If the RUB goes down so does the bitRUB .. so but they could easily switch over to something completely different (almost instantly) ... and could also short bitRUB and make money if people buy RUB ..

On-Ramps for RUB would be great to have :)

l wish that happens but NO CHANCE  because BTC e never add pre-mined crypto, unless u offer them something that l can t decline.sorry being negative

N1947, how can BitShares could be pre mined if there is no mining? If you mean initial distribution, giving a stake to early stage investors is equal to giving a stake to early stage miners - they both take risk spending their money (investors directly, miners via hardware/electricity expenses) on something without guaranteed return. I think we need to communicate this to btc-e owners.

Also what do you think could be an offer they can't decline?

imagine Putin announce they will ban bitshares...  My assumption is that such a story would boost bitshares even further ... make something illegal if you want it to succeed!   Why do you thing we are all globally eating potatoes right now?

I wonder if this situation could be utilised.  bitassets would be much better for Russians seeking stable assets.  Should there be marketing targeted towards this?  Are there at least Russian translations of the documentation etc?

Bitcoin is not popular in Russia. It is actually banned there.

Not more as in China, but as you can see...

China didn't ban Bitcoin. China just doesn't approve of it. Bitcoin is banned in Russia and Russia when they ban something are a lot more strict at enforcing these sorts of things.

It's not a good idea in my opinion to push Bitshares too hard in Russia. Just my own opinion though and I've never been to Russia to know what I'm talking about so it's just based on what I've heard.

China ban "banks"  to touch Bitcoin .... Didn't ban ordinary people from trading it at their free will.
Even if you trade it using banks , the worst can happen is close your account and give the money back to you .
No jail time what so ever ....。

Exactly the same for Russia, Russia ban banks and businesses from trading/accept bitcoins but not regular peoples.

No, Russia had an action in their congress to actually ban everyone from dealing with it. It's a fine for anyone to touch it.

And for this reason because it's so deliberately pushed by the political elite in Russia it might not be good to push Bitshares to a country that specifically doesn't want it's people to have it. Focus efforts on countries that actually welcome the technology and let individual Russians find Bitshares on their own.

Someone said about Russia laws: "The severity of the laws of logical mitigated by their non-fulfillment"  :)

But I totally agree that we don't need to push BitShares to Russia as you say "not be good to push Bitshares to a country that specifically doesn't want it's people to have it" and we need to "Focus efforts on countries that actually welcome the technology and let individual Russians find Bitshares on their own".

What would be the best currency pair to have on btc-e?  BTS/RUB?  bitUSD/RUB, bitUSD/BTC? BTS/BTC? They have been known to accept a "fee" for adding new currencies.
