For the record what I had in mind for delegates would initially be a delegate directory/delgate campaigning platform. I think svk knows that and just misinterpreted what the OP was proposing, which to me sounds more like a utility that only delegates would run to alert them to the status of the network.

jabbajabba reached out to me and I pointed him to Wackou's great work on btstools.

While I'm here I'd like to mention that the delgate interview fuzzy did with Wackou was great. I was impressed with how Wackou came across. I encourage you to listen to the interview and vote for him if you are similarly impressed (and for fuzzy too when his delegate is up and running):

I already started work on something similar, however it is written in python and not php, see: https://github.com/wackou/bts_tools

It doesn't provide (yet) all the features you're talking about (it's mostly monitoring, not full-fledged access), but it's still very much a work in progress.
I would still advise you to go ahead with your project (if only just for fun) as it's always good to have multiple ideas / a bit of healthy competition

I'm currently working on a delegate web gui in php.

So delegates could access their gui via browser with a pretty secure self signed ssl nginx server that will be hosted on the delgates server locally (ubuntu).

And also Gmail Alert for missed blocks and maybe some data presented in charts and everything you guys come up with.
edit:And information if there is a new client version out and maybe a window for messages from bm or the bitshares team.

Should i continue with it or is someone already working on somehting like that?

Or is it a entirely bad idea?

I think @pseudoscops is looking at doing something like this. I've considered doing so but I have other ideas too so if someone else wants to step up and do it then go right ahead!
