you can buy one with bitcoin  in the uk from  thepihut.com

https://www.adafruit.com/
is another option that accepts bitcoin

I looked there earlier and didn't see bitpay or bitcoin logos so assumed based on that they didn't accept it.

I just now went there and drilled down a bit more (not too much more) and still don't see signs they do, but if you know otherwise I'll press on. Have you bought anything from them with BTC? Where is that option presented?

I don't plan to run a crypto app on it, rather I'm gonna use it to build a media center player with Kodi.

Oh and thx @jambo110 for the offer. Looks like I ought to be able to buy directly.

It's been awhile since I've bought anything from them but they did announce at one point that they were using bitpay and they still have the BTC logo at the bottom of the Cart checkout

You'll see the option for bitcoin after "Proceed to Checkout" and filling in your information etc.  Payment information

Wow! I'm amazed at the power / features these little guys pack.

I was so intrigued I set out to find a source to buy one using Bitcoin. Sadly I have not found one yet, tho I find that surprising. It shouldn't be that difficult. Seems like BitShares isn't the only project to suffer from a lack of marketing skills.
