On my systems miner is crashing and after crash it reports damaged database. Them it asks if I want to recover it, this goes on and on in a loop forever. I have found that there is a bug in bitcoin 0.8 tree and a workaround is to use "checklevel=2" in memorycoin.conf.

The bug should be fixed in 8.5.0 version. My systems are currently mining. I removed everything except wallet.dat and conf file and with above parameter it is working at the moment.

I seem to be mining successfully over the last 36 hours. No block yet but I did notice that my connections have gone from 8 to 10 and now I am in the green bar. How can I add more connections and does this make any difference in finding a block?

I don't think it's a bug, it's just a bad error message in Bitcoin client. Nobody forks Bitcoin often, so people don't see this issue. What do you think would happen if Bitcoin would be forked and you would end up in the wrong fork syncing to the wrong blockchain?

Try enabling UPNP in your router, this will automatically open ports and your connections will be high as they've never been !

There's ~100 people on each right now.  The default maxconnections is 20, I believe.  Just have to change maxconnections=<x>

Thanks zvs. I've setup some nodes to help people connect, but they might not do the job well. I definitely never saw 900 nodes connecting to any of them. I'll ask our new CNO to figure out how to re-configure the nodes I've created.

OK, I finally got connected to someone, so I put two real nodes up at:

198.12.127.2

68.232.188.226

they have 900 connection limit (since bitcoin doesnt use epoll, anything over 1000 = crash)

when downloading blockchain initially it's faster to set maxconnections=1 and just connect to one of them

There are the four suggested nodes.  I've also added another 10 IPs I've seen in other posts, but none of them connect.

Oh, this is with a timeout of 200ms.  It was originally 500ms, but I decided since none of them was working in the first place that I'd drop it to 200ms for maximum chance of getting an opening

Well, it would if any of the nodes listed on these messages actually worked.  I imagine some of them are down and some of them are full of connections...

The only one that I can tell is working is 95.89.105.134, but right now it's full, so it doesn't respond after connecting.

Bizarre how people initiate new coins like this w/o any solid nodes...  should realize by now that most people will have listen=0 or have the port firewalled

Client doesn't sync after 0.8.54 update? Do this!
It seems like many people run into this issue. You were on the wrong fork so you upgraded to 0.8.54 and now your client doesn't sync. It seems to me that the issue is that your client was still syncing after block 607, so now you have the wrong blockchain.

It's easy to fix this issue:
1. Backup your wallet! I don't want you to risk losing any coins.
2. Close your client
3. Go to C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\MemoryCoin in Windows or I believe ~/.memorycoin in Linux
4. Delete everything but wallet.dat and peers.dat
5. Open your client, it will download the new blockchain and it will sync
