I think these are valid and interesting topics to discuss (income taxes, TPP, Bank of Canada lawsuit), but these topics are much better in the Random discussion section.   It would be great for us to focus on BitShares.  What do you think?   

I think these topics are central to the future of Bitshares.  We should all be asking ourselves the hard questions. That is why i put it in general as opposed to random. 

If we want to be the future of finance, this stuff stirkes at the core of that.  God the corruption is so rampant it sickens me personally...and even more importantly concerns me about the future my child will live in. 

Our problem today is part in parcel because real thinkers like all the people here on this forum see this kind of topic as random or "off topic" and because they do not see it as a central point of concern...and because of that the sheeple have no one leading them to the correct line of thinking...meanwhile institutions like the Criminal IRS (SEE LOUIS LERNER) constantly assert their own message--that they are valid institutions with legitimacy and ample force to prove it (and publicize its use to maintain that public image).

I will never forget watching Schindlers list when I was a young teenager...all those long lines of thousands of Jewish prisoners all willing to march together to their certain death.  And all i could think was "there are so many more of them than their are soldiers with guns...why dont they fight back in the face of such circumstances?."  Yet there they all were....ready to die for their self proclaimed masters.

You do have to pay income taxes if the IRS says you have to pay. Whether you think it's legal or not it's really just about avoiding the negative consequences such as guns to your head from swat teams, police brutality, arrest, fines, etc.

Depending on the consequence you can determine your risk. Different people are willing to accept different risks. The IRS isn't the agency to play around with though because they took the mafia down if you don't remember.

It would be great if we didn't have to pay the tax but to be honest the way the world works it's always a situation where we have to pay someone not to bring consequences to us. The only way out paying the strong man who has to be paid is to be the strong man getting paid and even then you probably have a stronger man above you who you're paying.

Thats right.  There have been many, many people who have gone to great lengths proving that no one is required to pay income tax.  'Voluntary compliance", natural law, common law, magna carta. Huge bounties put out for anyone who can find a law that requires it, (there isn't one)...  It always come down to, "you'll do what we tell you, or we'll throw you in jail"

Certain people will always seek to usurp, exercise and enforce any form of power they can, often even when they believe they are acting for a greater good.
