Meanwhile, competition is starting to heat up...
http://www.v-initiative.org/
http://www.bitcongress.org/
http://liquidfeedback.org/
https://agoravoting.com/
All mentioned in this article http://kernelmag.dailydot.com/issue-sections/staff-editorials/11334/bitcoin-online-voting-issues/ too bad FMV wasn't.

Not the real competition. V-Init and Bitcongress are dead. Agora Voting failed raising funds for blockchain integration and skipped that for now. Liquid Feedback is the software used by the german pirate party, also lacking blockchain features.

I outlined real competition here. https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,13030.msg270632.html#msg270632

And like to add that any open source project is no competition at all. Just start collaborating already. :)

Awesome stuff. I look forward to the mumble

By all accounts Adam, you are one of the most motivated and hard workers out there. You and your team also have one of the most difficult of challenges in breaking through entrenched interests whilst inspiring the many captured minds.  It is hard for this community to keep up with all the hard work going on.  Keep going you're doing great. Stan's belief in you is very reassuring.  +5%

Indeed, I didn't mean to imply anything with this thread. I just wanted to check in because I think you guys are doing very important work.
Don't sweat it merockstar, I'm sure ak understands our desire to know how things are going! I'm sure even bitsharesblog was just being overexcitable and accidentally overlooked a fair bit of context  :)
Yea I really like the idea of Vote, I do hope it works out and it is a success. I have had info and links to FMV http://bitsharesmarket.com/smart-contracts on my site for over a year and will continue to promote it. Adam I apologize if I was out of line, I will try to refrain from commenting ill-informed thoughts going forward.

Great Stan, but don't you think it is odd that people here start posts like these if there is all this daily activity going on?

If would be great if FMV took a moment to post about their efforts here, at least post links to their new YouTube videos, like this one from the CEO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TM0Osp_rnkQ and perhaps there would be more than 11 views in the two weeks since it was posted to YouTube.

FMV Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9y_DlpO5Em5QPkDKmZ8N-Q

Thanks for the update ..
What I'd like to see is a status update thread for VOTE and FMV with kind of regular (biweekly or so) updates .. would that be possible?

You're welcome! To answer your question, I met with @Gentso1 today and we discussed at length the community's desire to receive more regular updates from me. He has graciously agreed to serve as a go between for me and the rest of the community, as needed. To this end, we will be meeting on a regular basis moving forward, so that I can share FMV updates with him, which he will relay to to community via the forums. He will also be standing in for me, as needed, during regularly scheduled mumbles events/dev hangouts in order to keep the community more informed.
I love the website, it's so slick and explains what you're doing very well! https://followmyvote.com/

But I watched the youtube video of the Vision of the future and I must say it was very dry and I didn't want to finish watching it. I'm not sure if that was just meant as a behind the scenes thing or something.

A mumble session would be great to listen to
JonnyBitcoin votes for liquidity and simplicity. Make him your proxy?

i really appreciate you helping to promote our content via the bitshares forum. I have to admit, we could be doing a much better job at this and @slickwilly and I will do so moving forward.

What we have here is a common problem when someone gets paid upfront for something, in this case the 30 Million no strings attached BTS...
As a final update, when taking into consideration that I won’t be able to dedicate as much time to directly marketing for BitShares as I originally intended...

Since signing up his interns and a couple people from the meetup several months ago, Follow My Vote has 0 referrals.
Two months since Adam has discussed anything related to FMV on this forum, in fact the OP here is the first FMV related discussion on this board in over a month.

Meanwhile, competition is starting to heat up...

All mentioned in this article http://kernelmag.dailydot.com/issue-sections/staff-editorials/11334/bitcoin-online-voting-issues/ too bad FMV wasn't.

In my opinion, attempting to evaluate my contribution to the community solely based on how many referrals Follow My Vote has generated for BitShares makes no sense at all.

I've been working hard, full-time, day in and day out, in an attempt to make BitShares and Follow My Vote successful. I'm working with Fuzzy now to coordinate a good time for a mumble to bring the community up to speed with respect to what's been going on behind the scenes. With respect to this particular article, if you read the article, it says...

"The V-Initiative isn’t alone when its comes to cryptocurrency voting. Similar efforts to use Bitcoin to enhance online elections have been put forth by organizations like BitCongress, Liquid Feedback, and Agora Voting."

Perhaps we aren't mentioned because we aren't planning on integrating with the Bitcoin blockchain and therefore wouldn't fit nicely in this story. Integrating with BitShares is actually our key differentiator and advantage that we have in that we can claim that we are the only truly decentralized solution.

We've actually been mentioned recently in cryptonewsdaily.com (http://cryptonewsday.com/new-australian-political-party-to-use-blockchain-voting-for-policies/) ahead of BitCongress.org, so it's not like we are not in the conversation.

At this stage in the game, forming alliances and partnerships are crucial. If you pay attention to our blog (https://followmyvote.com/what-is-the-open-source-initiative-osi/), you'll see that an organization that Follow My Vote is a part of, CAVO (California Association of Voting Officials), has recently joined OSI (Open Source Initiative). Just as the V-Initiative has been doing, one things that we are focusing on is breaking into academia, starting with Virginia Tech, the globally known top-tier university that both bytemaster and myself graduated from.

As stated above, I'd be happy to discuss these updates and other during the next mumble session. Until then, please keeping in mind, I am working hard for you and the rest of the BitShares community.

If that's a recent picture, then I'll take that.

Silence either means death (of the project), or incredibly hard work.

I disappeared for months because I was out working 16 & 18 hour days.

Adam works with us every day.  Typically he has up to six people sitting at laptops in his little office cranking out work.  He is heavily involved in what we have in store for this summer.
