Hey guys,

Just wanted to share an article I'd written off late.
Explains why we do what we do, and believe gaming is the frontier for user adaption when it comes to crypto :)

https://medium.com/@GameBet_Business/gaming-and-crypto-s-b3d5e2ff37ff

Everytime you open your mouth I realize how similarly we see things...I've been saying we should never underestimate PLAY for this very reason.  There are SO MANY reasons...
1) botters are not supposed to exist in games but they do.  And they do real work (killing monsters or automating trading between gold and in game items in auction houses to name two).  Real proof of work...
2) gamers are able to collectively organize and accomplish complicated tasks on a level most every other demographic is unable to easily attain.
3) gamers are used to changing economies in regular succession. Changing the game one plays puts them in a new world and likely a car different economy than the last game.
4) gamers tend to be more capable of utilizing learning GUI interfaces at a more intuitive level (in general).
5) gamers understand digital value can represent real value and understand the basics of how economies work and how value is perceived
6) gamers who are also coders often fall in love with a game and it's community and build tools for their communities to use. These tools shouldn't take too much reworking to create utilities that enable cryptocurrency to be layered into the featureset.
And....then of course you have this:  https://medium.com/@GameBet_Business/gaming-and-crypto-s-b3d5e2ff37ff

Anyway, we need to chat offline when you get a chance, cool?

Is PLAY still under development? I don't know what happened to it. Is it going to graphene?

It is hard to get in touch with them. I have no clue what is going on behind the scenes at this juncture.

The whole DAC PLAY team picked me up at the airport in Shanghai last week.  They also took Xeroc and me out for an authentic Chinese dinner during which we talked of many things.  They are quite active and fully informed about Graphene.

Well it is good to know they are all well :)
Id love to hear some updates and to help however we can.  But it is hard to do lately because of the difference in approach..

Apparently they are stuck on a show stopping bug and are offering a bounty to anyone that can help them fix it.....

Big opportunities in this sector.

If you get just a couple of popular games using BTS/PLAY for their in-game purchases and a referral programme, the network effect could be huge. E-Betting and Blockchain based gambling in general is also going to be massive when it takes off.

Good points.

We expect to launch a beta in 2 weeks with Cs:Go support. It will initially be a "game-item" and crypto enabled economy. However,as we move forward with fiat acceptance, there is space for further crypto integration. Depending on the alignment of visions and incentives involved we'll be going with more coins at the time. The launch will (most probably) support only  Bitcoin

Two new cool projects in this direction:

And of course the old BitQuest server:

Some good finds there :)

Thank you for the link! I really enjoyed your article and the very interesting points about gamers and adoption.

Hackfisher must be extremely busy not to have found the time to chat with you. I really hope you get an opportunity to exchange ideas soon.  Partnering up is what it's all about!

Haha, its good to see alignment in thoughts Fuzzy :)

Am available all day, every day when its business.
Got caught up with some emergencies the past week so I haven't been available, but just message me whenever you'd want to talk.

In regards to PLAY, am not sure how they are positioning themselves and our conversations went nowhere, so am not sure how I could work along with them , although I was very keen on a potential partnership and their reach in the chinese markets. Our current strategy is to establish ourselves as the biggest network of gaming related ventures that run on the block-chain over the next year. We are very open to joining hands to make this cause happen. As a matter of fact we've been working on some partnerships and mergers behind the scenes. I'll update more news in the days to come.
