So I went to BlockTrades.Us, selected Trade.Ltc in the dropdown under Bitshares 2.0 then convert to BTS

Put in my username
Generated a key as requested on the site

Copied and pasted the key into the memo section and sent my coins to Blocktrades as instructed.
I did not receive anything back as yet for 4 hours?

I tried to upload screen grabs but don't seem to have that option.

When I have some down time from work, or after work in the next few days I will write a dot point list of my perspective on functions, how I would expect things to work etc from a computer literate point of view, but very much a novice to this software and Bitshares in general.
Hi KD,

Our website would have instructed you to send your TRADE.LTC to the "blocktrades" account (with an identifying memo so we know the transaction payment is for). We don't show any TRADE.LTC -> BTS  requests during past 24 hours. Here's the URL for transactions to blocktrades, which shows we've haven't received any TRADE.LTC (other than one that just wanted a conversion to LTC):

https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/account/blocktrades

I realised later that I did not select the drop down menu, so actually sent you BTS my mistake, only .5 so no big deal

Good work!  :D This is definitely what I was after and I shall spend quite a bit of time reading through it.

Can I suggest (if its not already) that you sticky this link in bold letters and make it very obvious to anyone who visits the forum. I think it should also be linked on the Bitshares site as clear understanding will help promote mass adoption.

Xeroc's documentation is also integrated into footer .. i'm considering to put it on header as well ...

Keep em coming KD this is great feedback. Most of us have been around here for so long we have a hard time imagining what it's like for someone coming to Bitshares for the first time now, so your perspective is very useful.

+5% Yes, comments and critique is welcome and helpful KD!

OK have had a quick look through the online documentation... I cannot see the really basic stuff as it seems to go straight to the advanced topics like "Blind Transfers" etc. I'm talking about the basic functions and knowledge base for the complete novice user, eg your brother, parents, neighbour who is interested having a look at it, but has no technical knowledge.

Examples like your Account Name is your Bitshares 2.0 receive key (I didn't know that).
Setting up an address book or contact list.

There is a mention of this in the top of the Stealth Transfers page at http://docs.bitshares.eu/user/StealthTransactions.html#adding-a-contact

And this makes sense to me, but I cannot find my Account Public key and have no idea where to look for it?

Anyone feel free to wade in here and tell me to back off, say "Hey its a work in progress", I don't get offended easily. I'm just trying to get my head around the basic functions before I put anymore money in to it, or refer it to anyone else.

*Update* So I walked through it and sent myself some coins via BlockTrades.Us, the key is provided once you action the transfer, its fast, it works well... but I think it needs to be documented to make it easy to understand.

Hi Guys,

I'm impressed with the new software and I have successfully transferred my balance.

I found myself needing to ask basic questions about how to use Bitshares 2.0 in a recent post, all questions were answered promptly which is great, and made logical sense after explained, but were not really clear to me at the outset.

I am wondering is there an operational manual for Bitshares 2.0 which covers the basic functions such as importing, tranfers, gateways, exchanges etc?

Thanks,
K
