With only 2 weeks left, the funds raised barely moved.

here it is: [IMPORTANT] RE Your LottoShares contribution. Hi There,

As an early contributor to LottoShares.com I wanted to give you a personal update on where we are at with the project.

Due to the unexpected issue with the marketing of the business we have been unable to secure the amount of PR needed to get this project off the ground to date. This is something that was not anticipated as it was thought that our normal channels of marketing the opportuniyty would be available to us.  These channels includes press releases, paid ad campaigns, and socially relevant cryptocurrency sites.

Regrettably many media outlets including leading PR and Crypto sites like Coindesk, Bitcoin Magazine, and many more will not publish any content connected with lotteries, gambling, or other high risk ventures.

We were also limited in advertising the project as gambling sites are deemed high risk and not allowed to be marketed in many countries throughout the world.  This has significantly hampered our ability to bring new contributors on board to the project.

We are very disappointed about this as the business is a viable one, but without enough contributions we cannot start operations. Based upon this current situation we have decided to discontinue the project for now. We may revisit the business in the future depending on our ability to market the opportunity.

In the meantime we would like to offer you two options regarding your contribution to LottoShares:

1. Get a refund of your initial contribution
2. Invest your LottoShares contribution into our award winning startup Remittio

The choice is yours, but as someone who contributed to our vision we would like to offer you the chance to be one of the very first investors to our company Remittio.

Remittio is a global encrypted mobile payment and storage application that enables secure, instant, and convenient transactions. Our application has no counterparty risk and uses blockchain technology where transaction methods are simplified with no requirements of traditional banking or additional fees. You can read more about Remittio.com here

During pre launch of this business Remittio presented as an attendee at Dublin Web Summit in their Alpha category.  While there we met with investors and industry experts to discuss the potential that Remittio had to shake up the payment remittance industry.  In addition, Remittio won the Angel Investors Innovation award, picked from a panel of secret investors who visited exhibitor booths during the summit.

We were one of 20 startups from over 2100 to be picked as a startup to watch in 2016. We were selected specifically on the basis of the potential to disrupt the industry of payment remittance in 2016.  We have been invited back to Web Summit 2016 in Lisbon (they gave us free tickets for next year) where we will be able to update attendees on our accomplishments since the last Summit.

We would like to offer you the chance to put your contribution from Lotto Shares into Remittio’s pre-investor funding which is going to be launching in the coming weeks.

As of now we have started work on the website, create an  business plan and business canvas, and secured the technology to run the app through the Blockchain.  We created the first wallets for the app, and we are finalizing the app wireframe.

After that, we will be working on the UI and preparing for alpha launch during first quarter 2016, refining the pitch deck and are already setting meetings with investors and strategic partners.  We also applied for two additional pitch events for investor pitches.  We anticipate attending both, as well as others when the opportunity presents itself.

We also have several interested investors we are meeting with over the next few months to secure more funding for the project.  This is a very exciting time for our company, and we would love to see you take part.

Please respond to this email directly to speak with us regarding this.  If you have any questions, please let us know.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,

The Lotto Shares / Remittio Team

well. in his defense Stan only promised you a summer of great announcements. He never said 'winter of finished projects' anywhere..

How do you mean?

We have always done it that way around here - first do it, then research it.... what the hell you want, we are just about to make another 4 mo. stealthy limp following the same 'proven' tactic.

odd man ...

I've unpublished the the BitShares Blog post about LottoShares, no sense in promoting a dead project. For future reference, when your home page logo isn't a link to the home page, but a link to an online casino, it shouldn't be a surprise that websites might not want to promote your website.

not surprising.

recap:

- banx portfolio is a fail (no dividend payout on banxshares last month)
- lottoshares is a fail

make sure to do your due diligence before you jump on to the next kickstarter.

this is just an external project and has little to do with Bitshares in my opinion

This!
same for

remittio
banx
bunkerdex
peermit
ccedk
openledger
bitcash
transwiser
...

See what i did there?

Plugging businesses into a common database and with shared user base?
Can anyone see the 'magic' in this?
Once you got that, do you have enough imagination to figure out what Plasma can do?

It would be prudent if they posted a message about that on the lottoshares homepage, instead the website appears to be business as usual and you can still donate to the project!

I didn't see anywhere they say they have given up on Remittio.

The last comms I had, the Banx priorities were two fold.
1) Remittio.com
2) Entrepreneuraction.com

Banx holders will have a share of both of these projects, as well as the Banx portfolio, though the % share is not very clear at this time.

My impression is they are looking outside of the cryptosphere to find VC investment.

One can remain "optimistic" whilst an ember still burns right  :)

This is what I was referring too:

Reply-To: [email protected]

Previously we sent out an email letting yo uknow about the status of Lottoshares.  In the email we gave yo uthe option to either request a refund or to invest in Remittio, our award winning start up.

Since then we have now decided to issue refunds to everyone, including those who already responded that they would like to invest in Remittio.

Please reply to this message with the wallet address you would like us to send the funds to as well as the email address you used to contribute.  Once we have that, we will begin processing the refund of your contribution.  If you have already recieved a refund you may desregard this message.

Thank you,

Lottoshares Team

Hi, yeah I got that one too, but as you can see there is no mention of ending the pursuit of Remittio, which from the recent webinar is 1 of 2 main focuses of their resources.

They haven't "given up" on Remittio, just no longer accepting small donations from the crypto crowd while they pursue significant VC investment.

Can't blame them, more hassle than it's worth.
