Happened to me, it was because I have a wallet password not account password. So after app start, click the lock to unlock it and the you have a button to switch between account model and wallet model.

If you go to settings you will see that you can change password and the current password works.

before I try your solution can anyone tell me why or how my password would suddenly stop working? It is that part that is very unnerving.
I am confused all right,  confused as to how this could happen at all.

Import backup here:
https://bitshares.org/wallet/#/existing-account
Or better option:
Download desktop client from bitshares.org/download. Go to settings -> Restore/Import -> import from bin file.

We have two login models now. New (easy one) login with just password, or old - backup and password. The login models are not compatible, and old one is bit hidden. You have right to be confused.
I can't check if Openledger merged new model, because  it's hanging, but looks like this is the case.

So I tried to log in today and while openledger accepts my account name as valid it tells me the password is wrong,  which is friggin impossible,  I use a password manager and a generated dificult and unique pass. IF I had for some reason changed it it would have been changed in the manager.

So what the hell is going on? I rarely log into this account and I do appear to have a bin file (bitshares-wallet_backup-bts_default_20160509.bin) which seems about right date wise.

How do I get around this?
