There is a bug in the new versions of the client, that prevents claiming the balance.

Details here:
https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-ui/issues/951

I was able to claim tokens using this version of the wallet (Mac OS):
https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-ui/releases/tag/2.0.151119

And these instructions:
https://docslocalcoinis.readthedocs.io/en/latest/bitshares/migration/howto-importing-wallet.html

The UI is buggy, and the "claim" button was disabled, although I could see the unclaimed balance. The solution was to add another account to the wallet, then it was shown in the list of the accounts that could claim the balance.

Another issue was that sometimes there is an error in broadcasting the transaction. On the second attempt, it worked fine.

My general advice for anyone struggling to claim the balance would be to play around with this version of the wallet and to create backups of the wallet on each step.

Any solution to this problem? Have you given up on your PTS, or have you found a solution?

Bump  :'( I have this exact same problem and it never got answered.

I finally imported my .json file into Bitshares 2.0. I enter my password. It shows my asset totals (hooray!!!). I press "import keys." Then, in Wallets, I press "Lookup Balances" and it says "No unclaimed balances found." This is sooooooooo frustrating. I can see my BTS but they are stuck. Please can someone help all of us with this problem?

I invested some bitcoin in protoshares way back when.
All I have now is my original bitcoin wallet from which the funds were sent to protoshares.
I can see the Bitshares X  balance at: http://www1.agsexplorer.com/balances/<bitcoin address>
Is there any way to claim these as bitshares (BTS) or was there some kind of deadline for this?

You need to dump the private key for that address from the bitcoin wallet and import it into your BTS wallet (after creating an account). You will then be given the option to claim your BTS.

I am having the same problem.  I went through all the same steps as iwinyoumad but cannot access my balance.  I had to create a new account in Bitshares 2.0, but when I go to import the wallet, I have to switch to wallet mode, from there I can import my wallet, it shows an unclaimed balance, but after clicking submit or import or whatever, it shows no unclaimed balances found.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I also had PTS back then (it's finally paying off), but claimed the BTS on bitshares 1.0 already.
But I didn't follow everything closely since, so my question is, if I own any stake in any other coins from the original PTS or BTS holdings?
(Just want to make sure I didn't miss anything I could still claim now)

I guess the confusing part for me, is how do I associate wallet to my account or vice versa. It keeps telling me to switch back and forth. Is that my problem?

I saw that as well .. all you need to do is either
 * register an account, or
 * import an existing account

The lookup seems to fail in the case you don't have an account in the same wallet to import the stake into

Hello,

I did a bit of mining for protoshares many moons ago, 2014. I am trying to import my funds into the new BTS 2.0, but am running into many difficulties. The software is the most confusing thing I've ever encountered. Can somebody please guide me so that I can restore my balance?

steps I have done so far:
1. Download Bts 0.9.3.c
2. Created .json wallet through console
3. Installed BTS 2.0
4. Import into BTS 2.0 using 0.9.3c .json file
5. It then shows the :

Unclaimed balances belonging to these keys
Once you've imported the keys, you can claim these balances to an account of your choosing.

ASSET TOTALS
xxxx.40113 BTS

However, when I go to the wallet to look up unclaimed balances it shows:
No unclaimed balances found

What am I doing wrong, and how can I get these back?

Please help! It is very much appreciated!
