You can probably keep the extra PSU's running 24/7 with a simple paper clip. (try this)
Note: You will probably need an individual surge protector to turn the PC on and off manually. [probably a $4 surge protector]

After that, grab some dual Molex to PCI-e and PCI-e to dual PCI-e to 8 pin and then multi PSU away!

Save $20 each on the addpsu's just by keeping the servers on all the time.

USB = more stable, cheaper, magnet proof, and mobile. Also very easy to transfer and replicate for other Rigs. Faster than eBay :D

So 75W is required for each PCI-e Slot:
75W*4 = 300W + CPU,RAM,others - connected to one 480W PSU.

I'd be safe buying a PSU for each extra GPU. Test the power usage(s). (REALLY RATED FOR 360W)

Honestly the capital costs of combining 3-4 different 480W (320W) PSU's together with ADDPSU or something is almost cheaper than buying a coolio 1250W PSU.

I get $12 re-furbed 80GB SATA HDs off ebay / newegg, and save the USBs for wallet backups.  Much less aggravating if you're setting up multiple wallets / using desktop a lot.

Add2PSUs look neat, I can't get myself to buy them for the price - seems pretty simple to reverse engineer.  Newegg had something that seemed better - an aux gpu power supply - but there was a bit of a delay in powering up after the main psu...not sure if that would be bad or not:

Without overlock r9 280x uses maximum about 220-250 watt
No, no, no. 220..250W may be for MMC, but not for LTC (scrypt)!
I have wattmeter (china). I measure scrypt mining - 300..320W for R9 280X ASUS!

Technically I just boot up from another flash drive(16GB).
 USB's have no cache and slower speeds than HDD's.

I just ran a debian net installer for about 3-4 hours each setup.
GPU cards should run Lubuntu (LowRAM usage) (Or until I learn to get X Server display working on debian net minimal)

Now you won't need the RAM if you're going to downgrade the CPU. Get the cheapest, lowest power CPU you can on the market and then match that up with the mobo and probably 2GB Ram (recommended).

NOTE: CPU mining costs less electricity to create HPM with higher capital costs. [you will benefit in the long term]

Correct me where I'm wrong:

PCI-E spec is 75 W from slot, 75 W from 6-pin, 150 W from 8-pin - so 225 W or 375 W. 
Actual card consumption varies.

Going to build my own rack during this week with plenty of room between each card.

Will downgrade the CPU and upgrade the ram.

It's best to use 80% of the rated PSU wattage. 4 cards suggests a usage of 1040 watts at maximum (260 *4)

You'll want to go low power for the CPU, possibly underclock it, and then run a flash drive to save $..

With that power supply you should use only 3 and then CPU mine,
Downgrade the CPU to a sempron, it will consume less power to hande the high wattage GPU miners.

Have you thought about the spacing of the GPU cards? You should get a mobo that supports sempron with the capabilities for 4 GPU cards (PCI-E x1 and x16).

As far as CPU mining goes, You'll need a little more RAM to power 6 1GB threads along with the OS.(Maybe 8GB RAM)
