Head Block Sync?

It is taking a very long time to "Create Account" after entering my login and pw info... The "Head Block#" in the lower right corner is slooowly increasing, but it says it is "Synced".

Is this normal? Can I not do anything until it finishes doing whatever it is doing? Whattup?

UPDATE: I was able to quit out of the "Create Account" window and just re-login. This worked.
