Newb Question about "proposed transactions"

Hi, so I just got a fresh account at bitshares.openledger.info yesterday. I deposited some litecoin and some bitshares, but why can't i trade them or move them anywhere? All that happens is it says I have created a proposal, there is no order in the market.. what do I do after i have created a proposal.. i can't take it back, i can't do anything on the site but create proposals. What do i do?
