Hey,

We are in the process of implementing an agricultural cluster in Zambia and would like to explore the possibilities of Blockchain to help small scale farmers and businesses with affordable financial services.
We are talking of very poor subsistence farmers, most of them without bank accounts. However, internet access is at least in theory available.
The idea is that farmers register with us, a social business in the agricultural sector, and by registering open an account as well. They sell us their produce and are paid (partly) into their Blockchain account which they can use to buy agricultural inputs and also as a savings account (a form of interest should apply). If a crypto currency is included, it has to be tied to the local currency.
What do you think, is this something that could work? What would be required to make it work?
Thanks a lot for your help, it's much appreciated and really could make a difference for many impoverished farmers!

Kind regards,
Chris
