BSIP42 was meant to grant **explicit** permission to witnesses to experiment with price feeds more aggressively and improve the "peg".

Of course, witnesses need to stand by their own decisions and can either support or not support such efforts.

Recently, some members of the committee have often put forward proposals for voting, which in one way or another affect witnesses and feeds. In my opinion, the main work of the witness is to submit quotes honestly in accordance with his vision of the situation. A witness gives feeds at his own risk and peril, since votes can be withdrawn personally. Proposals affecting witnesses create centralized control. Independence of witnesses in their decisions will not allow such centralized proposals to emerge as bsip42. Witnesses are local auditors of borrowers. If large borrowers begin to attract auditors to close their eyes to their insolvency, change debt conditions on the fly, then such a system will quickly lose trust.
