Great suggestion.  We are coordinating with DAC Sun Limited on their marketing of BitSharesX and plan to have a demo style video to show users exactly how to use BitSharesX.  But as it's now in beta, it would be too soon. As soon as we make the video it would be outdated days later, due to constant updates in the way it functions and looks. The video would not fit the newer versions being released.  This is early adopter phase of BitSharesX, not mass adoption mode.

As for an explainer video on what BitSharesX is, like the bitshares.org intro video, that is being created now but won't be out till late Sept.

B

For the video maybe just have nice backgrounds and say the benefits in text as well as someone saying the text so people see and hear.  No graphics.  How long would that take?

And of course, if you want something done today, go for it...I'd encourage anyone who thinks they can clearly and concisely describe what BitSharesX is and how it works in 90 seconds, to take a shot at it. If what you create is excellent, we'll use it!  ...
... and probably also pay for the efforts .. </guess>

Jakub, this isn't something you pop out in a day's worth of work. The explainer video on bitshares.org, for example, took about two months worth of writing, rewriting, going over it again and again with Bytemaster, completely scrapping every version and script we came up with, having the video produced by someone who does animations, getting a professional to do narration, etc. Its no small task.

And explaining BitSharesX is not going to be any easier. I don't want to throw something together. I want it to be top quality and a tool we can use for a long time.  There are plenty of articles, interviews and explanations about BitSharesX currently available for now to hold us over a few more weeks and we are still in beta mode after all.

And of course, if you want something done today, go for it...I'd encourage anyone who thinks they can clearly and concisely describe what BitSharesX is and how it works in 90 seconds, to take a shot at it. If what you create is excellent, we'll use it!  B

We actually need to appeal to the people who are going to be worth a lot for us, i.e. people who can help the BitShares ecosystem is the most valuable group of people to reach right now. If they get vested deep in BitShares they will use their talents to grow our ecosystem. Nothing breeds loyalty more than increasing their investments by 3x in a few months.. ;)

what about publishing a text explainer in ELI5 standard in some central place on the bitshares.org web page?

or better on the initial BTSX platform,  on help section or something like this...

Whoever is able to create a storyboard and video explanation which a 4th grader can understand will be my personal hero.

We've talked to some of our visual effect and animation friends. We weren't even able to find a single animated video explaining shorts and longs in traditional markets properly, let alone crypto.

I hope Brian has some aces up his sleeve :)

As for an explainer video on what BitSharesX is, like the bitshares.org intro video, that is being created now but won't be out till late Sept.

That's the problem. It seems like we need it now. Misconceptions about Bitshares X that are created now will be hard to undo in late September. People buy it and dump because they don't understand it.

If we cannot make the video explainer any sooner, what about publishing a text explainer in ELI5 standard in some central place on the bitshares.org web page?
I mean, not buried deep in the wiki, but right in the center so that a newcomer cannot miss it.
Surely with a good copywriter we can mange to do it in a few days time.

This is my proposal what it could be like:
http://www.reddit.com/r/BitShares/comments/2eo1sh/eli5_for_bitshares_x/

(Please forgive my being so relentless about this but my motivation is only one: I am a shareholder and I want Bitshares X to succeed)

Yes, the same link used to sign up is where it will be available to watch again.

https://adventure.clickfunnels.com/bitshares-webinar-registration

Give us a couple days to edit it...it was 2 hrs long so we may cut some out to make it shorter. Also, I think we may make an FAQ from all the questions people asked. Thanks for those who joined us on the call! b

That's great! How many people were on the call?

I think the Webinar yesterday also covered some of this. Sadly I had to drop off before things really got going but it was basically a how-to sessions for interested people.

Is that Webinar available anywhere as a download or to stream?

Why does Bitshares can afford to have a cool Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/officialbitshares
a cool Twitter account
https://twitter.com/_bitshares

while THE ONLY "official" video trying to explain Bitshares X is this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BV55IrZi7g
(which is a video made a year ago by bytemaster and it so outdated that it does not even use the name Bitshares X)

Please explain what your strategy in allocating marketing resources is.
Why are you marketing the Bitshares brand and TOTALLY neglect the need to educate people on the single most important product Bitshares has produced so far: Bitshares X.
(and I mean "educate", not "create brand recognition")
How can you try to build a brand if most people do not know how the product works and how it can be useful for them?
