Reviving this old thread so we can come to a consensus on what the smallest unit of BTS is called.

Future You : "send me 10 Larimers for 1 Bitcoin or the deal is off!"
Future NSA : "Drone strike initiated @ <insert your address>"

But that's a problem for future you... here's my off the top of my head suggestions (thank you online thesaurus!) to get another ball rolling just in case ...

bitChunk
bitPortion
bitRation
bitSlice
bitSnippet
bitSnatchTM©
bitStan
bitLarimer (if you must. it will at least keep future NSA off our backs. =b)
bitAnythingbutsomeonesnameplease

but I'm all for "larimer"!

Unimpressed with those above I just wondered Shard.. as in a glass like splinter of a Share.

Incidentally.. I expect the colour BitShares choose is a coincidence as it's a different spelling:
Quote
Larimar, also called "Stefilia's Stone", is a rare blue variety of pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean. Its coloration varies from white, light-blue, green-blue to deep blue.

I nominate calling the smallest divisible unit of BitShares a 'Larimer'

Reviving this old thread so we can come to a consensus on what the smallest unit of BTS is called.

I would like to throw out "nash" as another, after John Nash.

So according to this thread we have the following suggestions.

nash
larimer
DAN

I vote  +5% for :

"larimer"

How about this?
0.00001 BTSX = 1 DAN

I do not know, I've always thought of one DAN as a very big number, like bigger than one google... like 1google^100= 1 DAN=10^10,000   :)
Lack of arbitrage is the problem, isn't it. And this 'should' solves it.

For those that do not know ... there are at least 3 Larimers involved @ i3 .. Dan, Stan, and Pam
http://bitshares.org/community/team/

I can remember people complaining about this father-son story somewhere on the forum .. would like to hear their story now :)

YOU ARE AN INCREDIBLE TEAM!! (that's for the whole team .. no only the Larimers :)
