I call them "emotokens", some are funny and some are simple tokens of appreciation. It's a #PayItForward kind of thing.
Who needs DOGE when you can have FLUMP instead :)

I don't know much about NXT but I've heard they are a great group of innovators.

Welcome to the future  8)

I don't know for the HIGHFIVE token but let me explain for some other tokens I know of:

BROWNIE.PTS is a token issued by Daniel Larimer (BM), this token offer you a part of the sharedrop from Identabit (Identity BC) and ShareBits (Social Tipping Bot). Dan publicly stated that he will give brownies to everyone that help grow our community.

BTSFCX is a token issued by us (BTS French ConneXion), this token value grow as people register new BTS account @ OpenLedger following our ref link (https://bitshares.openledger.info/?r=bitsharesfcx#/). We publicly stated that we will give BTSFCX to everyone that help grow the french community.

MEGUSTA is a token issued by fav, you can earn 1000 MEGUSTA for making a BitShares related "Me Gusta Image" see  https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,20167.0.html

You can withdraw your tokens to your BTS account @ http://btstip.io/

Is not the committee account the only allowed to issue a new bitAsset? (BitIRR)
Good point .. I am not sure

True for MPA (Market Pegged Asset), not for Privatised Market Pegged Asset, they have an issuer as xeroc said
BitShares French ConneXion, le portail francophone BitShares.

BTW, privatized bitassets CAN use any other asset as collateral!!
...
Then you should wait until PRIVATIZED bitassets are more easy to use!

Thanks for your reply.
I don't care about easy to use!
I'm technical and have technical staff also to help.
So, let me know more about PRIVATIZED bitassets. What is that? Are you mean simply User Issued Assets or is it something different?

Thanks,
Sepehr

I'm starting to like the privatization better myself. I see great potential in the UIAs that OpenLedger have created so far like:
OPENBTC
OPENMUSE
OPENLTC
OPENUSD
OPENCNY

how about you hook up with Ronny @ccedk so he can sell your IRR asset, pegged to its value, as:
OPENIRR

Just another (easier) route you could take... :)

@kenCode: those are NOT privatized bitassets.

@sepehr: you can read more about those in the whitepaper from docs.bitshares.eu
essentially, they are market pegged asset where the issue can customize some parameters.
For instance:
* price feed providers
* collateral asset
* maintenance collateral ratio
* disable/enable global settlements
* margin call triggers
etc. ..

I would recommend to go through the "create_asset" call in bitshares.org/doxygen

Cheers

Good point we are standing at now! :D
I need some days to read through these, Thanks a lot xeroc.

Thanks kenCode,
Good Idea and I already wrote an email to Ronny about this before.
Maybe it's good to write to him from his forum account also.

Replies to items 5, 6 & 7 convinced me to check Ethereum!
It's your choice to go with whatever platform fits your needs.
But let me remind your that Ethereum does not have an operational:
* exchange
* asset management
* GUI

Why is it required for a pegged asset to only be priced with BTS? Why not BTC?
There are no BTC in BitShares .. those are also MPA and ultimately backed by BTS again.
You may later use bond contracts for lending, but the bitasset rules clearly say BTS are collateral.

I even convinced that as the pegged asset supported by the community it should be confirmed by 51 Authority, it's hard but ok, I accept it.
Not 51 .. 51 PERCENT !!

But why only in BTS? I cannot understand any reason other the vision to grow BTS price and that's not my target! ;)
