General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion
« on: June 29, 2015, 06:06:55 pm »
It would be really helpful if bitcoin could start moving higher... Right now btc is still the lead dog and a jump in price would grab a lot of crypto media attention.  That would bring in more outsiders and give them more of a reason to look at alts like bts... Once they own bitcoin it becomes much easier and less expensive for them to move to bts, not to mention getting over the mental hurdle of buying crypto to begin with.

I did just short bitEUR this afternoon

General Discussion / Re: Missing opportunity for BTS
« on: June 28, 2015, 08:36:44 pm »
I think there is time until September and the Spanish elections..Then it is game over. So BTS 2 should be fully ready within July and fully ready for mass European adoption by August...

I highly doubt bts 2 will be ready by August... Probably best case scenario is early September, but I would guess that there will be snags and it gets bumped to October

Technical Support / How to calculate profits from
« on: June 27, 2015, 11:29:14 pm »
Kind of a Newb question here... but how do I calculate the profits I made from a short.  Looking in the wallet the I have the following from a recent cover

Margin-24e07010-->Market  sell collateral @ .00654194769      5,999.98682 BTS
Market-->Margin-24e07010  payoff debt @ .0065419476992     39.2516 USD

I know that my trade was profitable, but how much bts did I make off it?  5,999.98682?

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Rename to Muse

If a unique name must be used, please don't combine two words together like Musidy or llulanote or Musempo... Its very cliche for tech startups

Why does the blockchain need a name? Do you plan on trademarking it?  Does naming it add more value than the possible legal, trademark and copyright costs that may be associated with it?

Why not just keep it "Bitshares Music Blockchain"

General Discussion / Re: Poll: Community perception of Cryptonomex
« on: June 25, 2015, 03:17:04 am »
When I saw Doge rising faster than BTS over the last weeks I knew it was just some whale buying a whole bunch of alt currencies and nothing related to the announcement... The announcement was more like a proposal and a lot could be left up for interpretation.  We still don't have a firm roadmap for when the testing will begin on devshares and if cryptonomex has received enough "community input" to do a feature freeze...

Marketplace / Re: Whiteboard/ Animated Videos for Just $5
« on: June 24, 2015, 01:20:57 pm »
Can we get a refund from that Toby guy who was suppose to make a rap video for us?  Seems like we could get a lot of high quality videos for BTS for the $500 given to Toby...

I would speculate that the release of BTS2.0 will be around early September if everything goes according to plan.

General Discussion / Re: 2.0 launch before ethereum frontier?
« on: June 22, 2015, 06:44:22 pm »
With the initial road map I believe 2.0 should be out end of August early september.

We are suppose to start testing this month on devshares.
after testing, which I'm guessing will take all of July, all exchanges will be notified that the upgrade is coming in 30 days.

So that puts us roughly around early September... but delays have been commonplace here, so it could fall back a few months.

General Discussion / Re: What's a Whale?
« on: June 20, 2015, 01:29:27 pm »
I'm just hoping one day bts surpasses bitcoins all time high of approximately 12 billion market cap. Anyone think that is feasible in the next few years?  I look forward to that day so I can finally walk out of my day job and not have to go back the next morning...

Anyway I think a whale should be classified by having the ability to move price say 5-10% on liquidation

Technical Support / Re: What happens to expired shorts?
« on: June 18, 2015, 06:40:24 pm »
The big 5 million bts wall at the call price are expired shorts waiting to be filled like yours. It's in order of short margin call price Lower to higher I believe. Once it auto covers u should get it back im also waiting.

I believe that shorts are auto covered based on expiration date.  That is what I have noticed as the buywall has slowly been eaten into.

We are suppose to have a testnet for devshares by the end of June.  After testing for a few weeks all the exchanges will be notified that a switch to BTS 2.0 will happen in 30 days.  So my guess is mid August-Early September

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Argentina Team Updates
« on: June 18, 2015, 02:28:14 pm »
I'm very excited to hear about the progress in Argentina. Here in the US, you guys are used as one of the prime examples for where crypto could have its largest impact.

I'll be heading to Central America later this year and hope to set up a beta version of a remittance business, basically empowering a local team with some money, processes, and tools for accepting or dispensing crypto for cash; I'm toying with either using BTC or BTS, but think that, from a purely marketing perspective, it might be easier for locals to adopt bitUSD over BTC bc USD is so pervasive; selling a digital USD seems like an easier sell to me.

What we need is a super simple app, or device, wallet to start distributing. I don't know of any that use bitUSD, but there are plenty of ways to start using BTC; at least, they're all in English that I know of. Do you guys know of any really good Spanish language apps?

They are working on the "Lime" Wallet.  I'm guessing it will be released after 2.0 is released... along with Moonstone

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Road map
« on: June 17, 2015, 10:46:25 pm »
It seems really weird that something like this was overlooked... How can someone designing a music business/blockchain not know that they are naming their signature chain after one of the most popular bands on the planet??  And it makes me even more leary after I asked a bunch of questions on Peertracks original thread on how they were going to make money by selling ad space on an advertisement free platform, but instead of answering they just removed the thread... there seems to be a lot of loose ends and they might not be as close to releasing a product as we are hoping.
