So, right now lets say you get tipped and you lets say for example you delete the PM and no longer have the tip link there's no way of retrieving it (obviously besides contacting me), I was thinking it would be possible to make the tip go straight to a persons account... that is, there's really no reason now that I think about it to have a person be required to claim the tip, who doesn't want free money? lol

Otherwise, if we don't want an auto-credit system, I could add a "look up unclaimed tips" page where you could enter your withdrawal code (perhaps this should be renamed to proof [of ownership] code) and it'll show you your unclaimed tips and links for them...

I know you are newbie, but this does not excuse you from being an idiot in general.

There are many reasons people might not want to be forced into a tip.

- General disdain for the currency of the tip.
example:

100 free brownies for the fastest one to claim.  :)

- Tax implications - even the CNX former selves, returned a huge amount of donations [all of them in fact] received in PTS....

So, slow down with the lols

thanks for stopping by to FUD pal, let us know when you want to attend a public hangout talking about your feelings on this subject, should you not want to come to said hangout im sure everyone here will expect you to just stop posting on our topics because being unwilling to talk about your opinion but being willing to use it as a weapon is a super shitty thing to do, you dont want to be known as that ignoramus who goes around fuding things he doesn't understand do you?

First off - I AM willing to discuss them... more than that - to do it in public and in writing...as in here.

Second off - Why am I ignorant? Cause you have not educated me? Give me a break dude.

Third - this is a F_D but the there is no uncertainty there man, it is a certainty - brownies are an idiotic creation to begin with. Supporting them is even more.... what is the word you use ..."ignoramus"... so this is FCD  :)

and there you have it, he admits to fuding openly lol... can we get a ban for this guy?

anyway, your not willing to defend yourself in a realtime format, and you dont even respond to the things people write you just use it as an excuse to FUD more...

were available in the hangout anytime u wanna join let us know, otherwise stop FUD posting.

General Discussion / Re: Now is a good time to tell people about BTS.
« on: November 10, 2015, 01:18:29 am »
Personally, I've been burned too many times by BitShares to tell anyone else about it until v4.0 (or whatever release finally settles on a way of doing things and sticks with it).

I've grown tired of defending BTS, grown tired of explaining that what I said last week no longer applies, grown tired of trying to explain why things changed, why the wallet doesn't work, why they lost their funds, why the price is dropping after they purchased, why, why why ... I'm done.

It was a full-time job with no pay, no fun and nothing but ruined relationships with people I brought on-board waaaay too soon and that's my fault alone.

When a stable release comes out that has a solid plan behind it that won't change any time soon, I will then resume telling people about BitShares.

So no, I completely disagree 10,000% with your assessment.

Now is not the time, December & January are not the time and no time in the near future will be the time to tell anyone you know about BitShares, unless you love punishment.

FWIW, I've made out quite well riding this volatility, but many others who don't have the time or desire to sit, watch and trade all day haven't ... as this forum can attest.

Disclaimer : Those are my opinions. If you can't handle opposing opinions, enter the letters "FUD" below to show everyone that you can't think for yourself, you're over invested, butthurt and have no solid reasoning to be defending BTS right now as well.

wow tuck?  :o  You are turning into me  :( ...not good not good.
the post itself mainly, but including the making money from the volatility part :)

But the fun part is just about to begin
I can already taste the brownies fiasco getting closer and closer   ;)

oh wow im shocked to see tony FUD on another post...

#btstip tonyk 100 BROWNIE.PTS

thanks for your input pal!

I think OP is right, nows the time guys!
Personally im taking advantage of the price low and buying in, as well as using the fee restructure to plan some exciting changes to help bitshares adoption,
I could use some ideas on ways for businesses i work with to adopt bts though, any input?

Hey, hey, kuro. You have the right idea, but lay off my man, tonyk. No FUD. He's always well-intentioned, if a bit opinionated.
Tony, the reason tipping hasn't worked is that people get like 2 cents' worth of a junk crypto, which doesn't make it worth anybody's time to download a wallet, etc. If somebody gets $1 or more, some will pay attention. But it really must be a worthwhile medium (like BTS or GOLD) or else it won't work. I would only use it when someone has already expressed interest, kind of like a gift faucet. Do these tips expire if no one claims them?

his signature is fud alone, not to mention he follows up everything fuzzy posts with the negative counter argument, and is unwilling to join us in a public debate to defend his arguments.

i dont think one can describe those actions as well-intentioned, and anywhere he posts with FUD i will call him out on it.

your right however that the currency some one is tipped needs to be worth it, i think tipping a UIA however to a user on say twitter would make them check out open ledger and pop open a wallet to liquidate the brownie for bitcoins.

Quote
I think what needs to be noted is that we're only laying the ground work for a much larger system.
Yes, tipping is in the core, but the user cases and implications are much larger.
Admittedly , this change in mass consumption happens one step at a time and that is what we are vying for.
We are laying down the bricks / foundations for the actual stuff.

Its hard to break it down when you look at short term profitability. We are working on the viability of things.
Admittedly our "cash burn" for the project, has been much lower than any other projects of similar stature and am sure anyone that's worked on the financials of the project with us can vouch on it.

P.s - IMO, its time we built products that truly went "beyond bitcoin" - as in, our target markets should no longer solely focus on the crypto community but gamers, bankers, businesses, and your average internet users. What we have here is the "backbone". What we need now, is the face or the user experience that makes it worth a switch to the end user.

Regards

amen brother

Is this for BTS or for cow patties brownies? For BTS, I will gladly gift some to newbies. Thanks for developing the bot!

well, why should they introduce them to BTS, when whey can introduce the to brownies?

They can also give them 10x, 100x or whatever the 'introducer'  decides, more  value?

It's for BTS and for any cow patties UIA.

Right, right - why not using the worthless tokens, printing press instead of real money?
I like the idea a bunch. The only problem with it is - it does not work.

thanks for stopping by to FUD pal, let us know when you wanna join us in a hangout to discuss anything you have to say,
we appreciate your feedback you have been most helpful in furthering bitshares cause :)

oh couldnt help but notice your marked watched which means your content is being moderated, maybe its all the FUD and spam, you should watch out for that.

Great project!  Is it possible to send someone a tip that must be claimed in a given period of time, and then if it's unclaimed in the given period, it would go back to the tipper?

this is something we have been considering, a claimed / unclaimed system - however we are currently in the process of getting the system stable and the visuals updated so we have a few things to work out before we get there, we will keep you updated :)

Random Discussion / Re: UIA fees
« on: November 07, 2015, 05:41:50 pm »
oh crap forgot about this post haha.

to address the concerns ill start by quoting them

Quote
Disclaimer: My first reaction to Brownie.PTS being announced was sort of like ... "WTF! You can take them away if you don't like what I have to say?!!!".  I did not like that aspect of them, but was assured that would not happen (I think, but I have no way of stopping it from happening). But, yes I have tried to keep my mouth shut as much as possible because I feel I (and others I know) have been "overlooked" on several occasions when doing task for Brownies.  Keep in mind, I have no way of knowing if that's actually happened or not, I just suspect it did on several occasions since we seemed to be overlooked after expressing opposing opinions on the forum or making some meme some considered anti-BitShares or just not on the same course as everyone else. Keep in mind that I'm a huge conspiracy buff. ;)

Now on with my post, but first another disclaimer, lol ...

Man I really hate getting involved in conversations going down these paths but, dudes kind of got a point (I think) the more I read between the lines.

As an outside observer, it appears to me this is all about bytemaster being the Federal Reserve and issuing a fiat currency from thin air (Brownie.PTS).

So some people are being paid with this fiat currency (and some are) hoping to find someone willing to exchange their real money (BTS) for this currency printed from thin air at the whim of the Federal Reserve (bytemaster).

Even worse, this Federal Reserve Chairman (bytemaster) openly stated (for legal reasons or otherwise, no one knows) that he would/could take back Brownies from accounts he deemed were not pleasing him personally. His exact words are in a transcript my friend wrote, look it up if you like and know that my friend is no longer helping with transcripts because he stopped receiving Brownies for his task after making his bitLife comic or some comments on the forum that we assume were not pleasing to the Federal Reserve (bytemaster). ;)

So, not only can the Fed (bytemaster) take back the fiat currency (Brownie.PTS) he can also choose not to reward you for your work at his personal whim.  Even worse, you'll never find out until after you completed the work. I won't even get into the fact (well, more than this) that he has now delegated a new Fed chair (fuzzy) who can pass any blame for non-payment onto the IMF (now bytemaster). Sorry fuzzy, had to get that in because it's just the way it is. ;)

Now, how hard are you going to work knowing all of that?

Am I missing the point?

Did I just expose my true feelings and am never going to receive Brownie.PTS again for doing so?

Should I stop contributing to the ecosystem because I'm afraid after I put in many many hours I may never get "paid" in fiat currency (Brownie.PTS) or the IMF (bytemaster, Former Fed-chair) will remove them from my wallet while I'm sleeping?

And here's my last disclaimer ... I love Brownie.PTS!  But I have fundamental issues with them (see above).

this argument hinges on one key concept, holding brownies - personally i do hold some, but any brownies i buy or am given for my work i will liquidate instantly, in fact some of the key features of our upcoming software releases are geared toward liquidating UIA quickly and easily, and increasing their market opportunity's... overall you should not be spooked by the concept of your fiat currency being revoked the the federal reserve if that currency is simply a transport for your real currency transactions... this is the path i advocate for brownies, it may not be the best, but i think it will work.
