You can not see your balance by a block explorer.  This is one of the features of TITAN.  See http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/TITAN  The graph at the right does a good job of visually explaining it.

Thanks for a response, everything is much clearer now. I have read wiki on wallet maintenance and all this thing with public keys, root key, registered and unregistered accounts is a bit confusing.

To keep it simple and if I got it right, if I created and registered just one account when I get into it, I go to File -> Export Wallet and do a backup in json then my backup should be done and I should be safe, right?

Also I know that NXT is written in JAVA, which language is BTSX written in?

When will they increase the withdraw limit?

I withdrew some funds from BTER. First I tried with my account key that starts with BTSX...

and I got this error message.. 
cancelled:BTSX account is not registered or memo is too long

Just after I tried to withdraw to my registered name and it worked.

Why did I get the above message when sending to my account key?

Also when will the withdrawal amount be raised from 5000?

Yes it did.. Works fine.

If you are using the GUI you cannot import the wallet.json yet. However, if you would like to put your wallet on another computer go to the BitShares X folder and copy the wallet folder to a flash drive. Put the wallet folder in the same location on the other computer and it should work

Which BitShares X folder? Is it the one in the Roaming folder or the one in the program files folder?

I assume the Roaming folder one.

Title really says it all. I have made a wallet backup in .json file on one computer, now I want to install a fresh copy of BTSX wallet to other computer and have my account there.

How do I do that? I tried to figure it out but it is very confusing and I am not getting it.

OK guys, I already have couple of questions, please bear with me since I am new.

First of all is this wallet that I can download at autodac limited website a stable version? It seems to me that I read somewhere on the forum that everybody are awaiting stable version. Also I don't see anywhere a SHA checksum to check for a download integrity, is this even necessary?

If I understood right, BTSX wallet is a combination of NXT brain wallet and BTC qt wallet. There is a master password needed to send funds but IS THIS MASTER PASSWORD ALSO NECESSARY TO ACCESS MY ACOUNT?

WHat is the role of the wallet.dat file? What happens if my hard drive fails and I need to download a wallet to the other computer, is the wallet.dat file and my password necessary in order to do a clean install on the other computer?

I see that there is an option to register name in the account. IS THE NAME REGISTRATION OBLIGATORY? Furthermore, can we use these names to send funds to other people. Or we can only send funds via public key that we can find under advance tab.
