Do people need to create new accounts with the light wallet? Might be a reason

Your proposal is so long and hard to follow that does not make much sense. You business model is very far from clear. It seams that although you put a lot of time in writing everything, it does make things even more messy. You already talk about presale but besides a lot of mambo jumbo and big revolutionary words there is nothing clear. You talk about apps and solar micro payment backed by bts.... "all project powers by Bitshares" what this does even mean. What are you talking about ?

Then you go on with non sens part two :

Quote
Persons who hold BitVid  would not own a portion of projects which choose to use the DAC to fund or issue their own tokens. Only if you buy into them specifically would that be the case such as with Sollywood TV and Sollars and Sense.

...hhhh WHAT ? This that make any sense to you ?

You should first flesh out clearly your ideas, give some working  examples. Like a real what are the incentive for consumer and for content providers ? Please don't tell to reread that proposal again nor watch the video, because I already did that part. Make it short don't write empty words to fill up the space. Let us  understand what the hell are you talking about. Make a whitepaper then maybe then you could start talking about presale and biVid and Solgold ..... And please don't criticize other delegates and don't event try to criticizes Music  ...Case in point Music had a very clear and brilliant model, also one of the confounder has like 25 years or so experience in music industry. Only once everything was clear they started talking about funding. You are going the other way around.
I'm  one of those that remember your first time around this forum. Your proposal back in the time sounded like a Nigerian scam. To be clear I'm not saying  that this was your intention but sounded that bad.. Then you completely disappear and now your are back .That's alright it seams that you are doing better already than the last time.
One thing I have to say is that your videos are really good you got talent. So start by making some Bitshares videos, in the meantime make your proposal sound like a real proposal don't even talk about funding you are so far from that part you can't imagine. Gain some trust from this community and maybe you got a chance. Until then I will not even vote for you let alone spend any money in your solar nonsense!!!  But I'm open to listen to your vision and if one day it will make any Sense I'll for sure change my mind.

Proposal is trying to mix some sort of artistic sense of the world with an economic platform.  This would be good for softening the marketing edge but not for the business pitch.  BTS video may likely be a viable DAC regardless. +5%

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: 100% vs. 50% vs. 3% delegates
« on: February 16, 2015, 11:05:10 pm »
100% is expected at current market cap because it offers a small stream of funding.  If you somehow find yourself with extra money then you can publicly burn the funds.

3% is to cover costs of running a delegate

249

Real and successful companies don't issue stock at first, they try to take on debt instead. Issuing stock while the market cap is this low is damaging to Bitshares. One way to do debt financing is through a similar setup to what we're proposing with our wallet.

I hope the community starts to understand the need for debt financing before the market cap drops even more. That would be a terrible pitty.

This post is so LOL on so many levels.

Not really.

Why can't we bail out bter? Buy it completely as our onramp/offramp channel?

I'm guessing that would be very expensive...

not so expensive if they are bankrupt... What do they have that would be most valuable to us , maybe just need their licenses/compliance arrangements

No wonder the devs aren't active on the forums anymore.
I am not so sure that we have decreasing dev participation

Wes BitUSD light wallet remittance and payment fees are zero next to 3% with visa, so as merchant, which would you rather ask your consumer to use? The 3% is typically built into the prices which go down as people switch to BitUSD.  Once everything is tight, I think there will be incentive enough already

Bitusd is does not solve the problem anymore than the dollar does. Government can track/freeze funds at Coinbase level. Sure, you could be sneaky about, but you couldn't be anymore sneaky about it then you can with the dollar.

My statement will be true until the dollar is replaced. Even then, it may hold true. Depends on who adopts bitusd. If you could persuade a whole community to adopt it then it would be a solution.

Has anybody ever tried to coordinate a large group of people to move to an area and use only crypto? Business people, teachers, tradesmen, ect.., it would only take one community to change the world.
Their problem is not tracking and freezing though. Their problem is that the banks refused to serve them. They keep the cash and have to hire guards to keep it safe amongst other costs. It is kind of hard to pay cash to someone 1000 miles away without the banks. Both of those are solved with BTC...BTS ads to this the lack of volatility.

Ok. Customer comes in and buys drugs with cash/credit card. How do they convert that to bts? Bank > Coinbase > btc > bitusd. Clearly, bitusd does not solve the problem.

Now, let's assume the whole community adopts bitusd. Customer comes in and buys drugs with bitusd......that's it because the company can pay employees with bitusd who can then buy groceries with bitusd. No bank needed. Bitusd solves the problem.

Again, the only way bitusd solves the problem is if the whole community adopts it.

Once the light wallet and one step on ramp is out then Pot would be an excellent target market -- also once we have created the Lwallet and on ramp, what might be good strategy here for initiating cross-community demand? I have heard some say incentivize merchants who then pass the incentives to the consumer and employees (although IME promotions don't work well this way at the retail level as the retailer tends to keep the dollars for themselves if recieved upfront)

General Discussion / Re: Project Bring Back Method's Passion...

This was not needed

The only reason I posted this was in hopes that all the community members who saw it would reach out to him, say thank you and offer him some words of appreciation for all he's done.   Have you guys reached out? ( no need to answer...this is a question to ask yourselves

How about we offer him five more delegate positions

 +5%

We expect him to play a bigger role in marketing but he's not getting Brian's salary, or any salary. Not getting Brian's bonuses or the hundreds of thousands that were spent on Vote. He lacks resources and incentives. He's and busy talented guy, he still seems to help out where he can, and is still doing an advertising campaign with his delegate pay  but let's look to the people Brian's funds we're spent on and Adam.

Method would just be enriching others and validating poor business decisions by allowing himself to be further exploited imo.

Agree - how about a thread to call the people getting angel share funds to be more transparent, hard-working and innovative.

Then let's also vote in some more delegates to fund Method because no matter how much volunteering some people do - it's still all part of a personal value equation and  Incentives Rule The World

Also FYI Method brought ideas and production to the table only to be told by devs that they didn't like his marketing angle - Stacey.  We hadn't even tried one video.
