I get this when trying to run the GPU miner on Windows 7 64bit and with gforce GTX 680

same problem here
Would you please test if 32-bit cgminer starts in your system?

Im trying the GPU miner and there only seems to exist a 64bit version?

Best Regards
For Windows, it is 32-bit which also runs in 64-bit OS. For Ubuntu, it is only 64bit for the moment indeed, there seemed to be no demand for 32-bit version yet.

Quark story makes it obvious what is crucial for short-term altcoin success. Media coverage and precise timing.

Reporting maybe .4 hpm increase with new miner on R9 290. Thanks for putting these out.

Edit: ...and getting coil whine now too. Is that bad for the GPU, should I switch back to the old miner?
I have reports of rather disappeared coil whine in Ubuntu, so probably different load patterns have different effect on different card hardware designs. It is not harmful though unless you overheat the card.

Guys,

We have finally updated the miner. It has a slightly better HPM than previous version and tries to run on Nvidia.

Please report your success (or lack of) running it.

I don't have one of those, i was comparing my 280x to other submitters in this thread.
If you look at litecoin mining hardware comparison, these cards khps values do not differ a lot without tuning. The same stands for MMC.

What might be the cause of increasing rates of rejects, it usually gets worse later, like this:

Mon Jan 06 08:35:36 2014 Miner Stops - mmcpool.1gh.com:8080
Terminate batch job (Y/N)?
Either they are stales, or the card gives hardware errors. New version of miner will print reject reason for rejected shares.

A slightly optimized (~5%) and supporting Nvidia (maybe, tested only on AWS) miner version is on its way. ETA is several hours to a day. I will post an update when it is ready for download.

Saphire R9 280x - 22.5 WPM  // 20 - 23 HPM

Edit: i'm surprised to see that my R9 280x is as good as R9 290 and R9 290x at mining this. not really sure why that is!
Have you tried tuning 290X clocks? Just like with scrypt, there is a sweet spot in core/memory clocks combinations which you can only find by experimentation.

Guys,

I have now a build of GPU miner that works with Nvidia. Its performance is rather disappointing, though: AWS g2.2xlarge (GRID K520) yields just 3.58hpm. It cannot be significantly improved upon. Consumer-grade cards would yield a similar or worse performace. Given that, please give your opinion on whether you would be using such a miner.
Do you use CUDA or OpenCL?
OpenCL for the moment. It is calculation-bound though, CUDA would not make much difference.

changed my settings to ubuntu from windows8

before: 17-18hpm, and unstable drivers was crashing. max clocks was something about 1050/1550
after: 21-22hpm, stable and max clocks seems 1125/1625 (but in default clocks it is already faster than windows with clocks)

edit: and card is Club3D 280X
Linux is consistently better for MMC indeed, across all cards. Must be related to a different videodriver model. Just wonder, why did you run an unstable driver? The latest Catalyst released (13.12) is stable, not beta.

Does this pool support long-polling?
No. Makes no sense actually at this hashrate (neither does stratum).

What would also be a good short term help would be a app or a plugin to make Bitcoin payment using MemoryCoin.

The way that would work -

1. You're presented with a Bitcoin payment address
2. App sends the address + MemoryCoin payment to exchange/provider
3. exchange makes the Bitcoin payment.

If it was some kind of decentralized p2p service - that would be all the better.
Such an application would have to sell MMC for BTC instantly at market price, pushing it down. Until there is a p2p exchange (BitShares?), I would argue that in the short term it would only harm.
