Thanks for the clarification BM.. the vacuum of silence here on matters like this creates a lot of crazy new stories.

General Discussion / Re: What's happening with the price?
« on: April 20, 2015, 02:45:44 pm »
BTS suffers from many problems, past and present and though there are good developments in the pipeline which give BTS a lot of potential, none of them gave me a great deal of certainty that BitAsset use and adoption would increase drastically. Over the last few months I sold over 90%+ of my BTS and was waiting for a significant reversal in either share price or BitAsset adoption before I would consider buying again.

However BitAssets3.0  has completely altered my expectations. https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,15775.0.html
These changes or some ultimate variation of them make BitAsset use far more attractive to longs and also to shorts too and I think will largely address BitAssets core problem of liquidity.

I will personally use BitAssets in fairly large quantities, even at the current stage of development. I also anticipate others will do the same.
I think we're going to see a sharp uptick in BitAsset use from existing BTS shareholders & others once these changes are introduced.

The increased BitAsset CAP's and adoption trend should quickly translate into a much higher valuation for BTS. So I've been buying at these prices even though it could still dip further.

You are welcome to come back via BunkerShares UIA!  :D .. if you want a use case for bitassets this is in my estimation the current most compelling one for use and returns.

Either way happy to hear you are back to buying.  +5%

I think this might be something that will be possible with the management features of the UIA in the next future release.

I *think*.

Great proposal  +5%

DPOShub as you described it would be a much needed tool! Is someone else already working on it? Who would do the programming? It's a big project!

DPOShub might not be an ideal name since Bitshares at its core may not be about DPOS in the future. On the other side DPOShub centers around delegates... A few random ideas for naming: bitshareshub, delegatehub.

Great questions.. we do have someone who has started on some programming.. but we certainly have a lot of work to do so if there is anyone else who wants to get involved you are welcome.

We are staying away from the bitshares name specifically because DPOS operates across all chains. Toyed with delegate type names.. but it just became much longer in comparison.

I have never heard of DPOS not being in the future of bitshares.. actually it has been the rock upon everything else has tethered. Can you elaborate on knowing something rest of us don't? Or was it just a 'could be' commentary?

more like the second :P

How would I go to cancel a limit order?

Which is the first?

Limit orders will have an expiry field which will let you chose the time they live for. Once expired, they are refunded to sender.

Nice added feature!  +5%

can the name DPOS of your projects change to something else ?

because while we know what DPOS is , other people don't .

It's not catchy  , and it doesn't have any meaning while pronouncing to the outside world .

"Di Pauls" ..... that's what it sounds like ...

especially if you use it as a job listing site aiming for a lot of people outside of the crypto space .

Generally when it comes to naming schemes you want at least one of two things.. either where you are.. or what you are. In this case DPOSHub really is identifiable to what we are and in some ways where. I understand what you mean about the outside world not relating to what it is.. but the topic revolves around Delegates .. the name really focuses on that in a short simply way people can remember.

As far as the sound.. DPOS almost sounds like a new type of acronym for POS.. which is a common term in the business community for Point of Sale. If I were being introduced to this as a business community I might assume this to be similar until I learn of its full name, which would come across in the design in some way I am sure.

Regardless... feel free to submit suggestions on what type of catchy names you think might be better. No reason to not seek out improvements.

Just a reminder.. this thread is open to questions after you have looked at the offer.

I know our FAQ can't possibly cover all questions.. it would be good if I can field some more here to add to it. :)

General Discussion / Re: Privatizing BitAssets

I agree that voting for feed producers that get paid each time they publish a feed with a minimal interval between feed publishings would incentivize things nicely and keep them separate from delegate responsibilities.

This is a great idea.

Now you are catching on... the way we bootstrap is to give established players a profit incentive to bring us customers ;)

Dammit.. I spent like a full minute hypnotized by this guy!

I am very excited about this new features.. already has rgcrypto and I trying to think of ways we could potentially incorporate it into MineBitShares.

I tried to find more.. but every one I found had withered and died long ago.

Remind me again. What is the plan for the Moonfund donors in the unlikely scenario that you do not meet your goal of 130K USD? How if at all do you plan to make such sponsors/donors whole?

Is it again the same principle - try to get N delegates elected and buy the Moonfund token at 1 BTS a piece? Or will those donations be treated as no string attached tips and no attempt will be made to pay them back?

PS
Do not get me wrong... I love Moonstone (as well as the Moon and The Stones), but just trying to decide on most appropriate trading strategy for my moonfund tokens. And for that I need clarity on the rules.

It's my understanding that no matter what the result the delegates are the payback mechanism.. assuming they are voted in.

I made some recommendations tonight in the marketing meeting on how this fund could best see it's way to success. It still has 50 days to go.. so I think it has a good chance at making it if they take the direction of targeting other markets. I can see some good things coming down the pipeline with the coverage.. now this needs developers support.

I think this sounds awesome..  +5%

These are some of my qustions:

  • You say compliance with Canada.. however, the securities compliance for crowdfunds in Canada are provincial and not federal.. will that be the level of compliance you will accomplish?
  • You say maw paw shops.. that suggests to me you are going to need boots on the ground so to speak to act as gateways/hand holders to these businesses that otherwise know nothing about this opportunity to crowdfund. does the business model incorporate regional partners?
  • You mention seeking out existing ATM operators.. I have a friend in my area that owns many in this area and manages them from top to bottom. What would be the advantage to him to incorporate this into his existing ATMs..can he?
  • I have tens of thousands of sq/ft of space in the bunker that would be ideal for assembly and/or distribution... need a Canadian distributor? Guaranteed to keep inventory safe under all conditions!  ;D
Looking forward to your reply!
