General Discussion / Re: Loyalty Rewards Program
« on: May 11, 2015, 02:58:40 pm »
This sounds similar to a fixed term deposit.

- Like a fixed term deposit, charge a hefty early withdrawal penalty fee which will help offset the cost to the DAC

- If possible incorporate a voting requirement in the lock + unlocking process so that it also has the benefit of increasing voting participation

Most importantly allow BitAssets to take part in the loyalty rewards program too.

https://changemoney.org/  As BitReserve understands, investors are primarily evaluating & extrapolating the BitAsset adoption trend.
Third party services and merchants will also be looking primarily to the size and growth of BitAssets to determine whether it's worth integrating and interacting with BitShares.

Locking up supply is positive but if you were to use dilution in this manner increasing voting participation and most importantly driving existing shareholders to maximise their BitAsset use would be far more valuable.

General Discussion / Re: What is "profit" of the current model?
« on: May 10, 2015, 11:08:52 pm »
Current income model

1. BitAssets and associated transaction fees
2. UIA issuance and associated fees.

To date BTS has averaged >1 million BTS in fees per month. A stable and popular wallet could do even more.

The real driver though will be demand for BitAssets  which requires BTS to purchase, thereby increasing demand for BTS and temporarily removing BTS from circulation which also has a positive price effect.

Other potential areas

1. Prediction market and fees
2. Bond Market fees
3. Blockchain based gambling fees/house edge.

At this stage of development BTS would be mainly focused on expanding its user base and not on maximising income/profit.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Paid Workers Proposal for Review
« on: May 05, 2015, 04:12:31 pm »
I would like to ask: What is the big problem with the current system which requires this change?
Why does this change need to be prioritized now, when we are desperate for things like a stable client?

I think we should avoid creating a huge overhand of vesting BTS which people know will be unlocked at some point in the future.  This could make people think "Well, if I invest in BTS now, I'm going to get dumped on in the future as soon as those shares become unlocked".

The paid worker proposal seems to be specifically tied to the 'project' BM is proposing. So it is most likely a workaround for VC funding.

Personally I don't think I'll be a fan unless the VC is also a gateway or that's in the mix too.

If you google 'BitUSD' 'BitShares' and most importantly 'BitGold' & choose 'videos' the little video I did comes up in the top 2 just because it has those terms in the title, despite only having a few views.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fnunXnLdJdw

It would be great for BitShares to have the top BitGold video and BitMarkets videos get a lot of views so I've suggested he mentions BitShares, BitGold & BitUSD more in the titles or descriptions. He says a few like that are in the pipeline.

That video is a good/quick introduction to BitShares. I want to add fench sub titles on the video to include it in a project coming very soon.

Is somebody has a way to contact the video owner ? I tried it via youtube but I got no answers.

Thanks ;p

I made the video and posted it for fun, however it has quite a few copyright issues so I will probably have to take it down soon unfortunately.
I assume when you are long bts again you will make him the favor :P

I don't know what my responsibilities are with regard to some of the footage regarding copyright. I think the safest thing is just to take that one down and if I do make another BTS one in future it will be mainly graphics and stuff.

I think once the market processes the effective increase in current dilution and possible centralisation side-effects that we'll probably be below $8 million CAP by the end of the week.

Lately your posts reminds me of some trolls I met on ex-famous  centralized exchanges...

Apologies. I'll try to refrain from price speculation for a while.

I would be interested in DACX user numbers on a month by month though as they go forward though.

Dacx can have a big impact on bts.  Yes, some user stats would give us insight into how Dacx and bts are gaining traction.

Edit: I watched the video. It mentions there are thousands of users in Dacx and an average user invest 5000RMB.  An impressive start!

I don't think those numbers are right looking at their crowdfunding targets so far.

I think it's probably more like - thousands of users have signed up but only a small amount of them actually deposit money and those that do the average amount is 5000 RMB.

It's a great concept though, when I first heard about it on the forum I didn't get it, but I think now it has a lot of potential.

The paid workers proposal is good https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,16130.0.html but has offset this positive news. It's not something that'll drive the price up in a heart beat . It'll be a step towards actual usefulness for BitCNY , so I think in theory the benefit will be long term but not short term .

Although with the current wallet , I don't expect they'll have many volume anytime soon since even someone experienced as me can't open the wallet now .  :'(

Yup, me too & I think you're right.

16 months and we still don't have a reliable BitShares wallet that an average person can use. Until that's addressed I don't think we can attract users and I see there's talk of increasing the current dilution by 300% in a pay later scheme. So I guess we might resume the downtrend for a while.

I would be interested in DACX user numbers on a month by month though as they go forward though.

Great.
One more thing - make the budget definable in bitAsset (not only) BTS. Should be easy once a day to calculate how much bts is the required say 2000 bitusd/day.
This.

 +5% +5%

 +5%  for definable in BitAsset.

Also BTS is already pretty centralised and target-able,  another 365 million BTS to the core development company (12%+ equity) would add to those concerns I think.

I bought based on this.

Saturday night, prime time segment on ICS about a BitShares related company with quite a few mentions of BitShares and cutaways of the BitShares wallet itself. I think this is probably the best media exposure BitShares has got to date.

Bought bts or the asset? isnt the asset representing apple stock, issued from dacx?

I bought a little BTS.

I think the market will view it positively that there are credible businesses forming around and based on BTS and that they and BTS are starting to get some decent press/media exposure.

Is DACx trading on BitShares or will they be forking their own blockchain?

UIA on the primary chain. For example: http://bitsharesblocks.com/asset/info?asset=AAPLBDR is a dacx.com asset.

Great, thanks. That's awesome.

General Discussion / Re: How to regain confidence?

要不是因为合并和增发,也不至于这时候墙倒众人推,自作孽不可活,倒霉的是我们这些看好bts的人。fuck merger,fuck dilution!

Why are you guys so shortsighted? It's not "dilution" - it's encouraging development. Would you prefer to have no dilution and no development at all?

If so - no one is stopping you to do a fork and use an old version of BTSX and never expect any improvements.

EXACTLY.

BitMeat thought dilution was so good. He sold at 8000 satoshis and let you pay for it    :)

I envy the 1280 buyer.  He will always be able to say he bought the cheapest BTS ever.

I actually got the cheapest BTS ever right when it went live. at 1251 I think on BTER. then I got out around 8000. Now I had some re-entry points that got hit cost avg 1550 I think. Can't complain.
