I think logging into the BTS wallet via the web is so cool. Im wondering if the market pages of the webwallet could be used for the relaunched bitshares.org ?

I like the existing one. Its a B with shares of a pie. Looks great.

What does a cube have to do with anything?

I dont see how fx traders would ever be interested in BitShares. The leverage is non-existent (its opposite of leveraged).

General Discussion / Re: DEX Arbitrage to increase liquidity

Are you saying the blockchain protocol itself would be doing arbitrage?

I like it - sounds like the arbitrage profits could be a nice extra source of yield for BitAsset holders.

Of course there is no liquidity for bitbtc/bitusd yet so that would need to improve before this made any difference.

General Discussion / Re: ShapeShift useful for bitUSD?

Perhaps this belongs in the stupid questions thread, but what makes bitasset integration so much harder than all of the other tokens supported by shape shift.io?

Nothing - were just newer than all of those alts that currently support.

General Discussion / Re: To promote bitUSD, what should we have?

I don't think we should care about BTC. Let's separate them. Rather, connection between bitUSD and fiat should be paid attention.

I disagree. Once gateways are setup, Bitcoiners will open the client and see BTC IOUs available just like the ones that they are familiar with, but that they currently think of as "deposits". Along side those IOUs they will see the option to trade those IOUs for BitBTC. Once they see these two options conveniently available in the same trading interface, they will start to make comparisons between the two, and this will be the catalyst for the masses to figure out: "Yeah actually I think 300% collateral tied up on a blockchain is better than an IOU with counterparty risk. These BitBTC are even better than the real thing."

Thats how I envision our mass adoption happening.

On a positive note, I am super stoked about Bytemaster's plan for relaunching bitshares.org into a proper exchange-looking site that will show graphs, market depth etc of all the BitAssets. Next time someone says "what is bitshares" we simply point them there and they can see the liquidity of BitBTC/BitUSD and they say "Ah now I can trade Bitcoin with no counterparty risk! Yeesss!"

Could you point me to this discussion?

It was in last week's mumble.

Debating for its own sake is pointless. Action is what counts.

Why dont you offer that bounty to the first famous BTC/USD exchange that becomes a BTS gateway.

Does it really matter if they attempt to burn Nubits? How ever many they burn, you still dont know if they have enough collateral to cover all Nubits that have been issued, because the custodians are not transparent.

Its just like when MtGox was hacked. People hoped that they could keep running the exchange on a fractional reserve basis long enough to earn enough transaction fees to earn back the collateral. Or you can move on and find a better way to exchange.

Does this include the price feed +/- trading feature, the one that will make MM super easy?
