General Discussion / Re: Why bitshares does not make bid side a priority?
« on: December 28, 2014, 04:38:38 pm »
I don't have any bitshares and since I am little greedy man I need to ask if there are any bounties currently held that I could claim if my proposal would get implemented?

There has been about 10 iterations of the market rules already, some from community members volunteering ideas. As BM says, get some skin in the game and buy some! You won't regret it (probably).

Aah but shorts are forced to cover every 30 days at any price <= to the feed price, therefore if you sell your bitUSD below the price feed you are guaranteed to have it sold within 30 days. Of course this is the absolute maximum, in reality it will be sold much sooner.

This is something that is not obvious from the charts.

I havent bothered to follow all of this thread, but to me the name makes it obvious what it is - its a testnet and should be treated accordingly.

General Discussion / Re: Can we get a BitAsset for Safecoin?
« on: December 24, 2014, 04:30:25 pm »
We want to create our own network that competes with maidsafe and eventually corners their market. We will be able to monetize it much more efficiently and will be able to leverage the network effect from all our other services to kickstart popularity.

Why are you so confident? It seems easier for them to copy the idea of BitUSD* than for us to copy decentralized file storage (which David Irvine has been working on since 2006). In terms of market effect, their system will skyrocket when it quickly becomes the go-to place for every bootlegged film & music imaginable.

*I agree that we will obviously get BitUSD onramps up and running first.

I think the best thing to do is to invest in both things. Im just annoyed that I missed out on their crowdfunder stage.

General Discussion / Can we get a BitAsset for Safecoin?
« on: December 24, 2014, 12:31:34 pm »
I have been doing some long overdue reading on Maidsafe, and the ability to pay some Safecoins to host large quantities of data on a decentralized Bitcloud is something that I want to be a part of.

For two reasons I think we should have a BitMaidsafe asset:
-I see Maidsafe being a strong competitor to BitShares (just in terms of market cap).
-I dont yet understand how their wallet system works, and I trust BitAssets because I know I can redeem it later 1:1 for Safecoins. This after all is the point of BitShares - store your savings in anything that you want.

Can we create a BitAsset for Safecoin?

On a side note, I think drltc made a proposal a while back that BitAssets get created when delegates agree on the asset description, without the large fee. How's that going?

I watched 3 episodes of Bitshares TV last night, then I remembered I have work the next day :) Really exciting stuff.

Also, I dont have a kindle but I bought a copy of the book anyway! Maybe I can send it to someone.

General Discussion / Matt Miller of Bloomberg TV totally gets it
« on: December 17, 2014, 12:36:37 am »
Check out this interview, specifically at 01:55, Matt Miller is practically asking for bitUSD:

When I first started really getting into Bitcoin I was more excited not about it as a currency that wealthy Westerners could use but as a currency that people in troubled economies like Venezuela or Argentina could use.
...its not very useful to them if it falls steeply in value.

Maybe someone experienced in marketing could reach out to him and explain bitUSD? His reddit account is mattmiller1973

Max I would like to buy a hard-copy if possible.

Charles have you ever thought of running to be a 100% delegate?

Given how high profile you are in the crypto community, I would vote for you.

/Sorry for hijacking thread this idea just occured to me.
