Thanks to everyone who supported and voted this project.

Now the real job begins: adoption

Working on some press releases and blog posts in english and spanish, but for now I leave you with a brief story of how we created the smartcoin and the virtues of Bitshares DAO platform

 +5%

I have used this bot and I love it, its really simple to use....this is the kind of bot people pay for! the fact that you are offering it to the community as an open source project speaks really good about you guys.

We would be using this bot for BitARS for sure.

Thanks a lot!

Update:

 - Approved the bitARS worker since they seem to work hard to get an ARS smartcoin and only ask for the asset creation fee. It would have been slightly better if they used a multisignature account, but I trust elmato

I urge against doing so.  It is not a matter of trust but a matter of doing it right.  IMHO, this has to be done right and the account should _at least_ be a multisig one with a number of independent and respected community members holding the keys.
Agreed.

@ElMato: To fix this, we could ask you to add the committee-account as a secondary account to your active AND owner key of the `elmato` account. Give your own keys and committee-account a weight of 1 and set a threshold of two .. After payout (e.g. the creation of the asset), the committee can then approve its own removal from your account permissions.
It has another advantage, namely, the whole committee can review the creation of the smartcoin and identify issuers prior to its creation.

Would that work for you? It seems you could get more approval if you do it that way.

We knew there was a trust issue involved if we created the worker, this is why we wanted the Committe to create it for us.

It does seem logical to have created the worker from a multisig account, however this was not brought forward (at least to me) and therefore we delegated @ElMato to do the task since we thought he was the oldest and best known member of our team (he also runs an active witness node).

Having said this, I don´t think there will be a problem in giving committe-account permissions until the asset is created and transferred, I will speak with the team and with @ElMato to get this done as soon as possible.

Worker is created and can be seen on cryptofresh.

http://cryptofresh.com/workers

Our idea is to grow bitshares ecosystem by being able to use our own argentine smartcoin, for business, for POS systems and for apps like ECHO, so plz support our worker.

*The smartcoin and the remaining funds will be sent to Committe Account after creation.

Dumb question... why not use BitUSD?

We want merchants and users in argentina to start using bitshares technology, merchants can´t accept USD freely... if I go to the local shop I cant pull out a 20 dollar bill and pay with it, people here use argentine pesos and that is what we want them to have when they use bitshares apps..

Isn't the USD a better choice ? As the ARS isn't known to be stable. Or maybe the situation has changed over the last years, I thought people held on to USD because of that.

I wonder if the government will be happy with BitARS there?

Yes USD is more stable, and YES most people hold USD for savings but you USE argentine peso, this is what you use and therefore what we want is people to use BitARS trough different apps, not just hold it, they have bitUSD and bitGOLD for holding..

and after 90 days, the cash back will be returned to the reserve pool, right?

Yes, that is the idea.

We would have preferred it if the Comitte created the coin so that we wouldnt have to, but yeah we will return everything..

Update:

Team Argentina has spoken with the Committe and they have decided we should go ahead and issue a worker proposal to create BitARS, we will then transfer the asset to the Committe Account, together with any remaining funds.

@ElMato will create the worker and we hope to get your support :)

Hey @bitcrab ,

Thanks for your input, I was also going to ask you what paremeters you thought were appropriate, given you have experience creating and runnnig a few smartcoins.

I agree that we need encourage shorters, in my opinion we should have something similar to TCNY :

"force_settlement_offset_percent": 0 ~ 1%,
 "maximum_force_settlement_volume": 2%,

Now, I wanted to ask you @bitcrab, if as a Committee member you could create and put up the worker proposal?, we can create a different forum thread explaining the proposal so that it can be linked to the worker.

We will provide all the votes from argentinian members and I dont think we would have much resistence from other voters since the fees for creatig the asset will go back to the network.

Nota: @rnglab Gracias por tu bienvenida amigo, creo que Argentina se merece una smartcoin, un abrazo!

I just discussed with some committee members, currently no problem, just need some more time to get opinion from enough members and coordinate on how to do it.

 "force_settlement_offset_percent": 0 ~ 1%  need to determine 0 or 1%.

as a shorter of CNY, my debt position has been force settled for several times, but step by step I found this is not a big issue, in almost all the times I can hedge the risk by operate in negative direction in ex-markets. for TCNY, up to now no real force settlement happens, in other words, this liquidity-making method is not used for TCNY.

so I suggest to check whether there is BTS/ARS ex-market with enough depth for shorters to easily hedge risk, if no then 1% should be better than 0. if yes 0 should be better.
We dont really have another market for Ars and we want to promote shorters so that we can have some liquidity: this said, I think its best to set it at 1%

I talked to @elmato and he agrees too.

Thanks for helping us with this @bitcrab, we are all very greatful

This will be so awsome, i feel like a big rock is finally of my back. It's so great!

Agreed. So many folks have been complaining that the captain of the ship keeps getting sidetracked and then never finishes a feature to shareholders expectations. So, I think the friday mumbles could now be moderated by the Beyond Bitcoin team but the guests can be those who want to talk about their projects. No more perception of a top-down structure (i have even seen Bitshares referred to as central banking 2.0).

I had a nice conversation with BM, Stan, Onceupon and Thom yesterday on mumble after the official mumble. We have a very solid plan to move Bitshares forward. Blinded transactions, recurring and scheduled payments, bond market, liquidity bots and market makers, margin trading, free transactions, Smartcoins POS integrations, a 2nd mobile wallet app for iOS and android (all native and material design), skin-able specific use-case wallets, Marketing... There are lots of things being started, worked on and finished up as we speak.

BitShares Munich will be expanding over the coming days. BM has been so far, and confirms that he will continue to consult with us in assisting our expansion, getting more Devs up to speed on graphene, direction with the different repos and docs, etc. We have roughly 40 Devs (c++, js, python and ui/x etc) that can work with us on various projects (as you guys know I have been in software and outsourcing for over 24 years now). Roughly 7 of those 40 are employed with us full-time and as more investment comes in we can slowly expand further. I would like all of the existing projects above finished/polished first and make them awesome.

Agreed, I think Bitshares still has a lot of valuable members and talented coders: Bitshares Munich, Bunkerchain Labs, bitcash, transwiser.com, etc.

I think its time for the community to step up and make this project truly great!

Great!  So what are you planning?
I got Team Argentina together and we are working towards building our own smartcoin.. we will provide liquidity and promote it trough our Bitcoin Embassy in Buenos Aires, we will also provide a 1-1 conversion and talk about bitshares at our meetups.

I also help the bit20 project in whatever I can....

I have set up some liquidity bots for the USD, gold and CAD market..

I think efforts need to be decentralized.. I am working with spanish speaking Team and with @Estefantt who has a great vision for his index.... bitsharesmunich doing their thing and so on...

I also dont blame people who join bitshares to just trade.. we need those guys too.
