Anyone know why NEM is skyrocketing? What advantages does it have over Bitshares?

Does anybody know of any meetup groups in these areas for BiShares?

Or even Orange County?

Does anyone know whether Coinpayments is decentralized?

They already have over 16,000 merchants.

Technical Support / OpenLedger or wait for Windows Client?
« on: October 13, 2015, 07:26:32 pm »
1. Do I wait for the windows client to come out or should I go ahead and use OpenLedger? Do they both do exactly the thing?

2.The Wallet Management Console in OpenLedger is asking to upload my keys.json file and also to PASTE PRIVATE KEYS (WALLET IMPORT FORMAT - WIF). Is it asking for both or one or the other?

3. If my keys.json file is not complete, with all my keys, can I come import and add a complete file later?

Hello,

I had my latest deposit made this morning (10/12/2015), I waited for my wallet to update, I do see my last two transactions on the wallet transaction list.

Then my wallet started to resync before I made a wallet_export_key.

1. If I do it now when it's resyncing would all my transactions be safe?

2. I've noticed that the keys.json file has 40 entries for both private and public keys, is that the number of transactions that I have made from the beginning?

3. I have downloaded the chain_10_5_2015.zip, and extracted under the \AppData\Roaming\BitShares\chain folder, but when I run the wallet, it starts again from the beginning at 0%, how does this work? Do I need to do anything special for it to read the new folder? I know I am have it in the correct folder for if I remove it, it creates a new chain folder.

I would probably need a new chain download that dates 10/12/2015 to get my last two transaction if indeed they where not save in the json file.

Please help me with this.

Thank you.

Technical Support / Windows 10 Concern
« on: October 02, 2015, 04:19:06 pm »
Hello, do we need to be concern about running our bitshares wallet on Windows 10? I've read somewhere that Microsoft has programmed W10 in such a way that they have a way to spy on people who store bitcoins in their OS.

Any thoughts?

Technical Support / Please help
« on: September 30, 2015, 10:21:53 pm »
I had downloaded Bitshares 0.9.1 back in July. I synced it and it was up to date.

I do have a json backup of my wallet from Frebruary 2015

I bought a new computer and am in the process of downloading  0.9.3c.

I don't remember changing the password on my current wallet, when I try to login with my normal password it is not letting me in.

Is there a way to recover my account with the February json file that I have after installing Bishares 0.9.3c on my new computer?

Is there a limit to the password login attemps one can use?

Thank you,

EDIT: I did find a json backup prior to installing 0.9.1 in July 10th 2015
