General Discussion / Out of the Loop, back now :-)
« on: March 02, 2015, 10:35:34 pm »
Greetings All,

Really wonderful to see the rapid growth of the Bitshares community. So I was here early on and not a very tech savvy person.
I am a founder of Keehotee and contributed resources to the startup. It was explained and If I understood correctly, I would hold a steak in all
the DAC's that followed. I haven't turned on my mining computer in about 1.5 years and that also holds my Protoshares wallet and Keehotee interface.
I am concerned the computer may hold some malware.

Any assistance or suggestions in getting up to speed so I can ensure my investments are  in order would be greatly appreciated. I know things are moving fast and I see the Invictus page is gone
so that may give you some indication of how long I have been gone.
I am also trying to learn to code in Python so any suggestions with that would be cool too.
Thanks in advance for your understanding and patients.

General Discussion / CoinSummit Decentralization Panel.

How can CionSummit hold a panel on decentralization without Dan Larimer? Is Dan or someone who could represent Invictus not in San Francisco? Did Adam pick the folks for the panel?
It just doesn't feel right that someone wasn't up there representing I3. What gives?

General Discussion / Decentralized encrypted medical records
« on: February 13, 2014, 04:12:16 am »
Greetings all,

Having read the latest update of the newsletter and Dan's challenge to come up with new ideas for DAC's perhaps some could help me chew on this.
I have been a clinician in the field of radiation oncology for the past 19 years. With all the fuss about the new healthcare law there are some genuine concerns I think could be addressed through a DAC. One of the main drawbacks emphasized even in the main stream media is the centralization of sensitive data, primarily medical records and their vulnerability to hackers.
Could a decentralized encrypted system be advanced that would solve these problems?
This idea could be pitched to the government exchanges or private groups who would have an interest in accomplishing this.
I think with the rollout we just witnessed the folks running things have not a clue that this could be done.
I ask you good people, could this be done?
