General Discussion / Out of the Loop, back now :-)
« on: March 02, 2015, 10:35:34 pm »
Greetings All,

Really wonderful to see the rapid growth of the Bitshares community. So I was here early on and not a very tech savvy person.
I am a founder of Keehotee and contributed resources to the startup. It was explained and If I understood correctly, I would hold a steak in all
the DAC's that followed. I haven't turned on my mining computer in about 1.5 years and that also holds my Protoshares wallet and Keehotee interface.
I am concerned the computer may hold some malware.

Any assistance or suggestions in getting up to speed so I can ensure my investments are  in order would be greatly appreciated. I know things are moving fast and I see the Invictus page is gone
so that may give you some indication of how long I have been gone.
I am also trying to learn to code in Python so any suggestions with that would be cool too.
Thanks in advance for your understanding and patients.

General Discussion / CoinSummit Decentralization Panel.
« on: March 25, 2014, 07:43:10 pm »
How can CionSummit hold a panel on decentralization without Dan Larimer? Is Dan or someone who could represent Invictus not in San Francisco? Did Adam pick the folks for the panel?
It just doesn't feel right that someone wasn't up there representing I3. What gives?

I just hope I3 gets out of the blocks soon, there is a lot of movement in the Bitcoin 2.0 ecosystem and we don't want to end up bridesmaids. It's action time.

Adam,

We obviously disagree on what constitutes responsible management of resources.  We have promised to use our best judgement to build the industry for the long term.  I outlined all the factors that drive our decision making process here:

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=3394.msg42988#msg42988

You consistently ignore most of these factors while you lobby to gain control over funds that were donated as a vote of confidence in our offer to manage them responsibly.

I would encourage you (or someone you nominate) to offer your services as an alternative Industry Developer with a different vision.  Tell everyone how you will manage their contributions and solicit their donations.

I think it would be healthy to give people the option of several developers
each with a different vision and management style.

I would happily support you or your like-minded nominee in the role of Industry Developer. We might even post your angel address right beside ours and give you your own page to explain how you would use other people's funds differently. This would let everyone vote with their donations - the sincerest form of expressing a preferred approach.

I think two or more cooperating Industry Developers each pursuing alternative approaches would be healthier for the community than the current insurgent process of sewing dissatisfaction and discord within the community.  That only hurts all the stakeholders here and drives away newcomers before they even get a chance to understand the potential.

What do you say?  Truce?

This sounds reasonable.

Well, then I am doubly assured. While you disagree with the management style you beleive the platform is sound or you wouldn't do this. It's early, I think they are good men with great ideas who are scrambling to launch. Kinda like making sausage, it ain't pretty.

I think it is a wonderful idea. I'm grateful you're still on board Adam. I was one of the folks who dove into Invictus and Protoshares after hearing the LTB podcast. After reading some of your comments I thought you had soured on I3. I think there may have been some communicative issues initially but it's going to work out. Seeing you extend yourself for the benefit of the community is reassuring. Thanks

BitShares AGS / Re: 1 AGS worth more than 1 PTS
« on: March 01, 2014, 07:25:22 am »
I have read a number of these threads with great interest as I hold PTS and now AGS. I think the gov't is going to come after the whole industry at some point. I'll admit the roll out of this venture has been a bit unusual as Adam Levine has pointed out. I think (THINK) Invictus is aware that these challenges will come and they are assembling a legal team to advise.
This is all new territory and think because things are moving so rapidly you may have to put the cart before the horse.I am in this investment / donation/ lottery and we are going to see what happens. If you analyzed all the what if's you would never make a move and now is the time for bold action as fate will not reward the timid.

I appreciate Darkbane and his tenacious quest for information, his concerns are valid. This thing is about to launch and once it's out there is no calling it back in, autonomous. Other players have cancelled their fund raising because of legal concerns I'm sure. The die is cast and now we wait and see how this thing unfolds.
I also appreciate Invictus for having the courage to leave these threads unedited as far as I can tell. I have had the experience on other crypto forums of having my posts deleted because I had concerns and challenged the direction things were going.
Emotions are high as are expectations, the immediate future will be rife with obstacles and small victories. We are in uncharted waters folks and we are going to bump some reefs. Weather we ride the tide or sink to the bottom only time will tell, I hope all enjoy the voyage!

I can't wait to buy all 5000 AGS tomorrow for like .1btc.  :D

The number of people thinking like you may be more than you know ;)

Wink? So there is no advantage in donating early? Help me understand please.

I contributed Bitcoin on the 27th and it seems to have registered on the 28th. Any guidance before I jump to conclusions?

General Discussion / Decentralized encrypted medical records
« on: February 13, 2014, 04:12:16 am »
Greetings all,

Having read the latest update of the newsletter and Dan's challenge to come up with new ideas for DAC's perhaps some could help me chew on this.
I have been a clinician in the field of radiation oncology for the past 19 years. With all the fuss about the new healthcare law there are some genuine concerns I think could be addressed through a DAC. One of the main drawbacks emphasized even in the main stream media is the centralization of sensitive data, primarily medical records and their vulnerability to hackers.
Could a decentralized encrypted system be advanced that would solve these problems?
This idea could be pitched to the government exchanges or private groups who would have an interest in accomplishing this.
I think with the rollout we just witnessed the folks running things have not a clue that this could be done.
I ask you good people, could this be done?

Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee wallet and support for altcoins
« on: January 21, 2014, 04:07:09 am »
Just so I understand, the Bitcoin, Protoshares and Litecoin wallets that exist in the Keehotee client but not supported at this time, once they are online I will be able to store coins in the wallet?
And the wallets will exists in the encrypted Keehotee environment thus free from any fear that the coins could be stolen by malware etc? Is this a correct statement?
Thanks

Yes, that looks nice and clean... Top shelf! ;)
