Yeah, the password was right tho i doubt it still is. Thoughtful suggestions. I did find something wrong. There was outbound activity to video.b1.org, so I wiped and re installed windows. Still tho..how is it possible to get both my password and my .json

The Bitshares desktop client version 0.6.2 was behaving oddly, instead of logging in it was refreshing the splash screen and returning to the login details so I deleted and installed an earlier version but have only gotten "invalid password" or "wrong password" notices since.

How can I verify whether I was hacked, or if there's some other issue?

Restoring backups on clean installations haven't worked. I tried old versions and the latest 0.70.

I get lots of criticism for my posts but I'm usually not shunned. They are at least effective in getting eyeballs in our direction. It would be really useful to have a list of rebuttals, especially towards all those negative articles.

General Discussion / Re: Cannot recover wallet backup
« on: March 16, 2015, 08:32:21 pm »
Hey. I have the same problem. I'm trying to restore a wallet backed up in version 0.4.24, but I get the same error. I am dead sure of the password, which does have special characters (nothing outside of what you can type on your standard english keyboard though. no spaces). I checked and the master key record type structure is correct. Using 0.4.24 doesn't work either, it still gives me the same error.... same with 0.5.3

If the password won't even work on the old versions, it sounds like either your password really is wrong or there is a separate issue from what everyone else in this thread is experiencing.

In any case, I will think about if we can maybe add an option to force the backup to restore even if it thinks the password is wrong.

I'm totally locked out. Tried so many of the versions and all I get is invalid/wrong password. BTW I prefer the 5.0/5.3 splash screens. I don't know for sure but it looks like a malicious individual is the culprit for my password being wrong. Nobody I know personally knew my password, or even what bitshares is, but I found this website video.b1.org up to something. Is there anything I can do?

It's a more comprehensive version of Yahoo Answers, the question and answer platform but geared towards insight, experience and opinions. Interesting features led to a very dedicated community, with many top experts being vocal about their industries.

Our presence is lacking. The community is sophisticated, and large and deserves more attention from us.

I think a discussion on the Bitcoin blockchain should be first. In that discussion, I plan on starting with a description of money. Then I'll talk about the block chain in as much of a capacity as I can, and as my audience can handle. Then I guess questions, followed by the importance of decentralized technology for society.

What kind of support are you looking for (from people outside the Montreal area)?

Good question.

Support in selecting and arranging content suitable for my audience. Support in verifying that that content is easily understandable and correct. Support in the discovery and planning of this project so it's most effective and efficient.

Hello world,

I hope to find support in my aim to support the Bitshares ecosystem.

The initiative I'm to spearhead is a group meet up, in my local town of Montreal in Quebec, Canada.

Here is the page to the platform it is listed on: http://www.meetup.com/BitsharesMontreal.

I'm seeing that I cannot redo the registration because I am already registered, however that's not the what I see in my Bitshares client.
