General Discussion / Re: Critical Mass or Fratricide?

Fortnightly launches maybe - to balance the effects of flooding the marketplace versus avoiding delaying DACs ready for release.

Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee Status Update
« on: April 27, 2014, 03:11:48 pm »
With the Keyhotee points registration, if these are showing below the Mining Effort trackbar on the right-sided Info Tab, does this prove founder status? Not sure if I should be seeing "Founder member" anywhere on my profile.

There are many "learning tasks" we could assign. If you are interested I will make github issues specifically for you

Or maybe make a section of  "learning  tasks" for everybody who want's to learn instead just for a specific user ?
Please count me in too. Interested and keen to learn more.

General Discussion / Re: Our new website is now LIVE!
« on: March 22, 2014, 07:26:23 am »
网页太华丽了象个凤凰,不简洁而且通面介绍,和招商公司没区别!产品btsx拳头产品没突出。也没给时间就说7月大会推广没实际产品!
Just to add a few comments:

(1) each website iteration has made substantial improvements, its going in the right direction!

(2) ? add a more visible link to a wiki from the site. The FAQs are good, but naturally provide brief answers. You could sticky the wikis on this forum - ideally one for each DAC. Currently, googling 'bitshares wiki' brings up a MSC wiki link at the top, and the listed wiki provides a one line answer with a link to back to a MSC site. I don't know if a wiki is the best format but the forum is great for those following the ongoing conversation - for those just arriving: not so much, as searching for information in threads takes some time.

(3) more videos needed about upcoming DACs in the video section of the site please

This is a winner-takes-all bounty system, which clearly incentivizes the leading players quite effectively. Just to add though, it might be worth considering a slightly different reward strategy: a weighted reward scheme still providing a fair gain to the most profitable DAC, yet also rewarding any DAC that generates income but on a sliding scale proportional to success. One advantage to this is it might limit the chance of just a few players taking over, in addition this would potentially incentivize a larger audience, and also support development of a more varied spectrum of DACs. You can have a guess at the most profitable DACs, there is some sense in not just rewarding the most profitable eg a variety of a decentralized exchange or a lottery, because it just might stifle innovation in other areas.

General Discussion / Re: Decentralized encrypted medical records
« on: March 02, 2014, 11:48:55 pm »
One suggestion to add to this is with the potential commissioning and provision of medical services, to help cut out administration and any intermediate services. For example, in Radiology, the doctor could bid for services and if successful at 'auction' could then use their DAC viewer to upload and access decrypted MRI scan images. Quality control could be enhanced with feedback reporting systems, and with an automatic "second opinion" report provided by another doctor in a percentage of cases to monitor inter-rater reliability. Inter-rater reliability might be less biased as a feedback measure here. Initially, such a system could be used in training Radiologists, later pattern recognition systems could evolve to speed up processing and handling of many reports.

General Discussion / Re: [POLL] How much would you sell your BTS for?
« on: March 01, 2014, 03:14:19 pm »

What if BitBTC goes down because of some negative media attention due to Mt Gox or some arrests?

Again, I would rather hold something that has no or very small and predictable inflation like BitBTC or BitGold, definitely not BitUSD. On negative news on BTC go short on BitBTC and not long on BitUSD. (No fiat or fiat assets for me  8))

But there pops up a question, are you an investor or a trader? You could use Bitshares for both.

I wonder how good will technical analysis be in this system? It's been proven that it is not so good in cryptocurrency but what about bitassets?

Very interesting times ahead of us, this is just awesome  :D
The poll is interesting too, as perhaps around 20% might sell on launch based on a lowest expected Bitshares-PTS value - the remainder who say they won't sell (80%) are likely to mop these up I would guess, if these voting ratios are a correct estimate.

Can someone point me in the direction of a Cold storage link for Bitshares? Is there a trusted web address like https://www.bitaddress.org?

General Discussion / Re: Sensor DAC (Big Data)
« on: February 01, 2014, 01:59:37 pm »
I'm proposing a DAC which designs, builds, sells, and makes use of sensors to receive input from participants and customers.

For example you could build a fitness app which makes use of sensors which send a pseudo anonymous data feed to the sensor DAC. This sensory information can then be sold to other DACs which need to buy it or it can be put to use by the DAC itself.

For anyone who understands the importance of "Big Data" then you also will understand the importance of sensors to provide input to the autonomous agents which can offer services which leverage "Big Data". This kind of DAC could take on the likes of Google yet remain completely decentralized and private.

Your fitness numbers could be collected and given to the DAC. Perhaps the DAC could even buy it from you. The DAC would then be able to sell this data on your behalf to other DACs. The purpose of this DAC would be to create sensory gadgets and devices, to collect sensory data, and to either crunch the data in ways useful to the customer or sell the data to other DACs which do this.

Healthcare could be revolutionized. The fitness industry could be revolutionized. The gaming industry could be revolutionized. Scientific research which relies on random samples could be a lot cheaper and much more private to conduct.

This DAC would be special. For this reason I recommend a share distribution that 30% go to PTS holders and 30% go to Angelshare investors. The remaining 40% could be distributed via a combination of mining and giveaways to college students in specific fields relevant to developing sensor technology and / or to people voted upon as deserving by majority (PTS/AGS holders).

Additionally this DAC should never be inflationary and the mining period if there should be mining should last approximately 12 months. This would give the DAC a year to fully market and distribute itself through mining. After the mining period is over there should be 0% inflation so that shares are not diluted.
This is a great idea for a DAC. Fitness and healthcare is a great place to start. A sensor that combines multiple current measurements might be interesting to develop eg pulse, BP, body temp - or weight and % bodyfat. Look to see how new sensors might be incorporated into clothes and shoes perhaps. Obviously in healthcare the sensor instrumentation is highly developed already for many key indices in blood specimens etc. But there are great improvements to be made with software, especially a global decentralized health care record, for example, which would maintain privacy yet offer the potential for higher level data analysis; in addition there is a big push for home monitoring in many countries, which would likely lead to a rapid uptake in the light of exponentially increasing demands on healthcare. It's always interesting to think where these things might end up, and of course here it would lead to autonomous "RoboDocs" - obviously unfailingly sympathetic with their auto-mood sensors, yet infinitely analytical with their connectivity to sensors and a decentralized medical data network, "owned" by the blockchain shareholders.

BitShares PTS / Re: PTS price fall after BTS launch?
« on: January 26, 2014, 01:00:52 pm »
The timing of any announcements on future Invictus DACs, i.e. if given prior to the release of Bitshares X, may be of some relevance here. One major hurdle is the initial release. But my guess is that once the 'wheel' is invented and 'manufactured', it will create a snowball effect within Invictus, as they would then presumably be able to develop subsequent DACs more quickly, and these are promised to benefit Protoshare holders. It would therefore be of interest to learn just a little more about the upcoming Invictus DACs. In production are:

NameShares: Keyhotee blockchain - will pts holders receive NameShares?
VoteShares: decentralized decisions. New government, anyone?
LuckyShares: decentralized bets.
DomainShares: not sure of any details here.

Each of these have huge potential. It's why I've held PTS so far, but added AGS with BTC.

Then, there are the non Invictus DACs. Those DAC developers of course are invited to mention what they are planning wrt protoshares.

BitShares AGS / Re: The real difference between AGS and PTS
« on: January 23, 2014, 11:28:27 am »

^ Me Lost in (Google) Translation!

"I believe that the participation ags no fool, this result must occur for a reason.
There is no this possible? Some people like to use the data to suppress pts ags donation rates, cheap Xihuo opportunity.
If so, my strategy is clenched hands pts, good btc direct investment ags on. After a relatively btc prices and other pts up, shouting pts vote.
No btc comrades miserable
We all think so, I think it is cast btc.pts all suffer because btc hard currency, pts been dropped, bts may bounce, ags and not trading, risk is really great, holding pts secure. :)"

Keyhotee / Keyhotee and security

Will Keyhotee have 2FA incorporated? Or would this just add a layer of complexity that isn't required?
