General Discussion / Advertisements will be eliminated, which isn't good?
« on: February 23, 2014, 02:52:17 am »
If amazon, ebay and so on starts adopting keyhotee then they will not have any way of getting info of or to you.
So they wont be able to give you personalized advertisement, most of these companies are 100% dependent on being able to advertise their products to you.

So why would anyone ever want to use this?

I agree, I own PTS, was under the impression only PTS would convert to bitshares. I guess they threw in another blockchain (Bitshares AGS), thereby halving the PTS value distribution.

Actually, you where suppose to get 1:1 BTSX NOW you get 1.3 BTSX so better deal. Also there are only 4 million BTSX not 21 million BTSX so even better deal on you PTS.
All AGS founds will be used to develop the DAC ecosystem. Have a DAC idea ? Well now there are funds for that.
Could be confusing I agree but I think taking the time to understand it will pay dividends.

PTS'ers get to keep their PTS and sell/use it later on. What about AGS guys?

General Discussion / Re: Best strategy for PTS/BTC
« on: February 22, 2014, 01:54:47 pm »
If you donate, you get AGS - angelshares - and these will translate into BTS-X but not the other future Invictus DACs  In some ways, holding PTS is more conservative option, as you still keep it after, but... there is not so much information about the future DAC releases as yet, and PTS will likely dip after 28th Feb. Also, now, people realise the better ratio with AGS. My guess is that future successful independent DACs will honor the social consensus, as this will be a snappy way to gain support of this rapidly growing community, and community support is critical, right? Time will tell how easy it will be to build a DAC, but you can guess that people will be working on ones that self replicate in time. This gives a hint as to how many DACs might appear. Anyway, I decided a while ago that the best option was to hold PTS but also donate in BTC, ie just do both. Now you have to weigh up what others have donated more carefully than ever: - see the charts http://www1.agsexplorer.com/

I read something about transfer ID's from the AGS will also be taken into account in future DACs. But I have almost given up on understanding this.
I have no idea why they made this so fucking hard to keep track of, surely scares away the majority of potential investors and developers.

But do keepers get as much BitsharesX as donators of BTC?

Sell PTS for BTC -> Donate some of those BTC for AGS -> Buy PTS in early March with the remaining BTC
Later you may sell some of the BTSX for cheap PTS/AGS or spend them on booze, blackjack, ......

At current PTS and AGS prices, you need to donate less than half of the BTC earned by selling PTS to get similar amount of BTSX.

EDIT: Strictly my opinion. Please look around and build your own strategy. In particular, never go all in on one strategy.

But if you donate, you lose your Bitcoin.
If you instead just keep your Protoshare, you get Bitshares because they "snapshot" your amount of Protoshares and even get to keep them?

BitShares AGS / Re: What happened?
« on: February 22, 2014, 11:02:44 am »
Keep the PTS in your wallet on 28th Feb and you will get almost 1.3x BTS than PTS you hold. Thats all you need to know, really - you are getting a better deal than you thought possible earlier.

You could have gotten a much better deal (and maybe still can) if you followed closely but you are not losing anything.

Please explain what you mean with this? How do I get a much better deal?

So I want to get as much Bitshare X as possible obviously like anyone else, but how do one go about doing that?

Buy PTS ? Buy AGS? And what about the donations, how does that work?

This is so fucking confusing and I'm experiencedin the crypto world, yet this is just puzzling.

General Discussion / Best way to get Bitshare X ?
« on: February 22, 2014, 08:48:01 am »
I am thoroughly confused about the entire process of Bitshares and Protoshares and all that jazz.
From what I have gathered protoshare holders will get some bitshareX once it launches on Feb 28th, correct?
But is this the only and most effective way to get BitshareX ?
