General Discussion / Re: Listing BitUSD on centralized exchanges?
« on: July 30, 2014, 01:09:26 am »

Except that bitUSD will ultimately be subject to the same fate as USD.  And that one, we know, may not last much longer.

USD is a figure of speech. It is any  fiat currency you like. As for gold standard... it will come but I am too old to think it will be in my lifetime :)   I just turned 40....

as quick as bit*FIAT will be everywhere, so will bitGOLD.  Im 35 this year and I certainly expect it in mine.

I figure gold will just naturally be the 'standard' unit of measure for value, eventually.  It will take USD not making sense anymore, for that to change.

Let's teach 75% of the population what bitUSD is.
Then we will teach them about bitGold.
One "small" step at a time.

No it gonna be bitUSD taking over the world!

BTSX will be just the foundation on which bitUSD exists!

PS Funny how I turned out to be the bigger optimist at the end...

What do you mean take it off the blockchain?

It will be taken off the blockchain at the centralized exchanges as much as BTC (or any other coin) is taken from the blockchain at said exchanges.

bter already lets you keep CNY so why keep BitCNY on the exchange? With both you have to trust the exchange won't take your money but with BitCNY you have the additional risk of the peg not holding.

How easy is to deposit real USD in Bter (and all  cryto-only exchanges) ...
yes in bret it will be CNY or bitCNY whatever you choose...
And then again why they have bigger/more BTC markets than CNY markets?

If I'm understanding you, yes, you're right, if it's possible,  BitAssets mean crypto-only exchanges can maybe offer a lot more and bigger options because they are backed up on the X blockchain.

I still don't understand exactly if it's possible.

The only thing I do not understand is how you were so optimistic 2-3 weeks ago, if you did not realize that this is one of the ultimate goals! (i.e. taking over BTC, before taking over the USD/EUR/CNY )    :)

My first reaction is "of course it will be listed on centralized exchanges!" Luckybit has a good point, but the reality us that if it puts centralized exchanges out of business, it will do so whether they list it or not. So sure, maybe some exchanges will put their heads in the sand and pretend bitusd doesn't exist, but the exchanges that last the longest will be the ones that embrace the new paradigm and profit from bitusd's dominance. Any exchange that lists bitusd will make a killing as it starts to overtake bitcoin as the default unit of account in the crypto world.

The thing is, if an exchange wants to list bitusd, there isn't a damn thing we could do about it even if we wanted to. Thus my conclusion that someone will certainly do it sooner or later.

Actually, I think day traders will always prefer centralized exchanges over decentralized ones because they're faster and they don't charge you fees to place orders. But that's just my hunch - I wouldn't put any money on it.

ALL here assuming market peg USD - bitUSD.!!!!

They will put themselves out of business if they do not 'list' bitUSD.
And by list I mean open at least the same /bitUSD markets they have /BTC...

I wonder what it would take to list and trade BitUSD (after it works well on Bitshare X exchange) on regular centralized exchanges. If market peg holds, BitUSD is likely to be a very popular "coin", as well as, likely a few other synthetic assets. Any plans on making it possible to trade Bitshares "derivative" assets on central exchanges?

Why would a centralized exchange want to list something which could put them out of business?
Maybe so people can cash out BitUSD but thats about it.

Actually, everything that is now traded in BTC will be traded in bitUSD... if all goes as planed.

I logged in to post.
And I will promise you to do so in the future!  ONLY if/when need arises, though!

1st I do appreciate the support you show above, bit it is totally, unnecessary! Again, highly appreciated and totally unnecessary.
2nd  BM did post a pretty important thread/post today. Unfortunately it was turned in completely deferent direction due to a post by of one of the ‘blue balloons full of themselves’ personalities here.

3rd My post is mainly regarding said topic in 2 – I know BM is as smart, as he is hard headed. (A86 is the only one, I know of, able to deliver his ideas to BM real fast). As I do not have this ability I will just say what needs to be done… and I do not know…. in a week or a month, BM will wake up and will be sure his sleep gave him that vision. And that's is all I am hoping to achieve with this post.

Caps on price movement are necessary weather delegates provide feeds or not!
Caps as in – ‘per block’, ‘per hour’, ‘per day’- restrictions on price movement. Hitting such caps should result in not trades being made above those cups (meaning halting trade for period of time up to a day)

I know this will be buried deep under a ton of post before morning, but I will write it anyway.

I was inspired to write this, before turning back to mainly observer (instead of active poster), by those 2 posts:

Firstly, I completed my sale transaction of BTSX by giving the buyer a discount on the negotiated price in exchange for him paying the deference between the negotiated price and the current price of 0.0000160, instead of actual delivery. In other words we turn it from a sale into a bet.

What this means for everybody: (everybody is winning, I hope)
-For me , I get my gains and do not have to import my wallets and then transfer the amounts using software that is still pretty unstable. Additionally I do not have to go to the exchange and buy significant amounts of BTSX. You are right donkeypong , buying such amounts at this point in time will most likely move the price of BTSX up, at least temporarily.
-The other party gets a discount compared to going through with the transaction, as initially negotiated.
-All of you, especially the one that still vote –‘I am buying’ - The ‘whale’ did not move the price up for you. Feel free to go and buy at those low prices!

Which leads to another one of my reason to post this.
You all are brave and believe in BTSX. My 2c are that the current price offers a great level to get in or add to your position.
But be advised, if you do not go and do not actually buy some BTSX, we will probably see my initial expectation come true. And they were 8-15 Mil market cap.

Do what is best for you of course, but understand that the current demand is kind of pathetic!

Why dont you airdrop it all to BTT? People here have BTSX anyway and can say hello in the BTT thread too.

Yes, otherwise this will soon look like a bitcointalk thread.

Unmaximize the window and it will switch from two columns with less info to one column with more info including pay rate.  You just can't look at top 101 and standby side by side.
I know, I figured that out  - see my post. Still weird –haven not seen this in any other app.

[edit]
My experience suggest that probably the first few columns are with defined width and the rest is left for the last one (i.e. last one uses whatever % is left) . In full screen not enough space is left, so it is cut out.

This issue is not solved in v. 0.2.2 win7.
I am again missing the column (weird enough on of the two I most care about – pay pate) in full screen mode. Said column magically appears in smaller screen.

…and wallet_account_rename seem to be just for display purposes in the wallet, so I cannot rename them to something like ‘wrongdelegatetovotefor’ for the misinformed voters.
