Just like I said human behaviour doesn't change... the compression you think about isn't compression of time its because we are early adopters and because of this comes lack of liquidity which exasperates market moves.

Most people can now attest to the fact that almost ALL alts are shitcoin scams which are meant to be a way to get back to the original token (BTC) which itself is a token back to fiat until we have an ecosystem which proves can survive on its own (aslong as transactions are increasing)..

The one's that arent scams will come around... and they have their own charts... we can't compare charts with something that already exists because there is nothing to compare to before crypto that matches. However the long term charts once full mainstream (if it happens) when the volatility issues go away could be similar to the one posted.

I'm still saying that the graph looks an awful lot like this:

Those bubbles take years to come to fruition, human phsycology will never change regardless of how fast we seem to be moving, its almost like the theory of relativity, the laws governing bubbles remains the same regardless of speed :)

Humans need to percieve what is going on and it takes time for that, and the herd comes in when all else fails so as someone else elluded to we are in the stealth phase, of the bubble yet to even lift 1CM off the chart that you show. If this is true we can extrapolate somewhere above $1-$10 based on your chart as where the peak would be. Thanks for the uplifting post!

Based on the premise in the OP would the value of BTSX really be 3*bitUSD + 3*bitEUR * 3*bitGLD issued etc etc ?

Sorry, I exited my position today. Either going to do the smb training program or pay off my truck and buy a ring for the girl. My dump was only 11.8ish btc. That isn't what caused this downslide but it did contribute :(

heh cool but doubt it really matters as thats not that much on btc38

replace btsx with altcoin and all said in this thread can be found in ANY other crypto forums too .. don't you guys have better things to do?

Someone has a hate for altcoins :) If there were no altcoins there would be no bitshares.

The longer it stays away from new all time highs the stronger the bullish reaction!

btc38 looks really heavy... big short orders... waiting for big bulls to come and eat the bears up and bears to switch back to long. I expect the low to be here somewhere. Maybe in 4-5 hours we might see a bump up.

There is a independent reserve fund for each and every bitAsset that is used to pay the yield!

But this fund is not used to intervene in the market right?
It was originally the idea to use it as a black swan fund in the case of a flash crash .. but as far as I know the only purpose of it is to pay the yield .. nothing more... no market intervention

It is better IMO.. black swans are an anomaly in the market, and it is best kept organic.

About the client reporting 0 fund, I think if Xeroc is right then its a bug because the fund is not being updated or displayed correctly or BM simply removed the notion of a fund and just put it somewhere else internally to distribute yield based on time/size of stake.

How come the price so differs from the real price? Should be almost 15000? but its on the 13000 boundary. I mean doesnt it defeat the point of having assets - they are supposed to tied up to the price of the real asset. + why isnt there a reserve fund in bitBTC

If I recall correctly the reserve fund builds up over time from bitBTC fees and is used in the event that extreme market volatility causes calls on short to have insufficient collateral to fully cover.

As for why the peg is off - That's above my pay grade.

There is no reserve fund accrual like that, it is used for interest to pay for long asset holders.

The insufficient collateral problem, is that not why 2x and not 1.1x or something is held in collateral?

Looks like someone is betting 1.6 million btsx that its going to go down by buying 60k bitusd  right now

Thats not much you see 2million btsx orders on btc38 every few hours...

I would get in now.. last chance..

What are your thoughts on the current TA?

What we need is some more good news to bump up the price.

Yup. No idea where that good news is going to come from though.PEG doubts popped the bubble. Realization that the PEG works after all put us on the current uptrend. BitYield gave us a boost. It will probably have to be news from outside the BitShares organization.

Tiny distribution going on i didnt sell the last bump up confirmed my first target atleast so im just waiting never know when its going to hit. As people start using bitassets we woll see money entering and staying.

Probably would be arbed away.. with more bitassets more arbing can be done.. anything above the peg shouldnt last too long.

Its really only about 1 day of coding to enable merge-mining... infact I did the same thing with Syscoin/Devcoin.. does it make it more valuable? Yes.. how much, is debatable.
