General Discussion / Re: Leave the Dev's alone!
« on: October 19, 2015, 01:30:55 am »
I think the dev do a very good work.

But we lack one person to coinsider the market and businisee fairs, and this is the problem. The person need to list important things in business and market to the dev to be done.

General Discussion / Re: The Main Problems with Bitshares
« on: October 18, 2015, 03:44:47 pm »
Given Dan and company's inability take care of the little things when they matter most (like coordinating the upgrade of exchanges) their total lack of business acumen

That leaved me a bad taste also...
One week before snapshot he states he will focus the last week to coordinate the upgrade off the exchanges...
And after snapshot he just confirms that bittrex (I suppose the same is true for others, bter(?)) was not individually  informed and they should know about it because 1 month prior we made a buzz about this news...
If we had 50 exchanges that support us I could  understand it,  but we have only six (poloniex,btc38,bittrex,bter,yunbi,metaexhange)...
With this logic he shouldn't care informing any exchange prior snapshot...

PS I believe that exchanges in reality knew of course about the migration.  But  we gave them the opportunity to blame us for the luck of communication/migration... If bm had sent them only one fu#$% email before snapshot (2 minutes "work") they would not even have the chance to do it...

PS2 I agree with almost everything clout has said...
I think lack of business mind is the problem.
The team do not understand there are things very easy but create huge value. Making migration more easier, notify exchanges are things of this kind.

If the team consider more, we will spend less effort, and create more value. Think about why Dash and Dogecoin have a larger marketcap without the "innovation" like bitshares.

We lean on innovation too much, but do not understand to solve a problem we also need many "traditional" method. We lean on develop too much, but do not understand to solve a problem there are other steps to take. Or, we do not have real problem-solve mind too.

From my sight, problem is lack of business mind, and aim too high but solve no real business problem for now.
Must admit the dev team have done a lot good work.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Lets vote for lower fees!
« on: October 17, 2015, 01:58:57 pm »
low fee for transfer and trading, others can higher, especially the register fee
I also think the trade fee need to divide into 2 part.
Palce and cancel order need to be very very cheap, and trade success need to be charge a higher fee (such as 0.05%, still lower than the centered exchanges).

This can get more fee than now.

General Discussion / Re: What happened to Moonstone.io?
« on: October 17, 2015, 01:54:03 pm »
I talked with them, they're working on it and they said it should take ~2 months. It will be a simple interface at first but they're looking into doing more work as to provide us with a trader like interface in the future.
Thanks!

I think a simple UI is enough. No need to spend too much time for the little group of profesional trader.
Just remember that "little group of professional traders" is who brings liquidity to the table. And without liquidity the bit-assets (i.e. SmartCoins) are just useless.

IMO it goes like this:
good trading interface -> liquidity -> SmartCoins become practical -> normal users start using BTS
Yes, this may work.
I mean simple, mean it is a good UI for most people ease to use.

https://beyondbitcoin.org/poloniex-proves-its-solvency-on-the-bitshares-blockchain/

I think we really should push this topic so people could pay more attention to this kind of questions. We have BitShares solving a very common problem cryptocurrency users face nowadays! Make people demand and care about transparency. Solution: OpenLedger.
Transparent is very good. But for many people they just trade and withdraw to their wallet.
The market deep and volume is more important than trasnparent. Because as for now poloniex looks like a reliable exchange, and most people will not feel it a problem for themselves.

What the gateway can get to do so. The exchange fee is too low.
And the fee to place an order is high. Why not lower the fee to place order and increase the exchange fee? (Even can be set by the issuer)

« on: October 17, 2015, 01:27:35 pm »
In fact, the real business is more complicate than we think.
Just think about how a forex system work. It is not just about the trade system. It has to find a low cost deposit and withdraw solution for different currencies. It has to consider how to manage the currencies. It is built on the gaint traditional finance system, and much much complicate than ours.

dat is ridiculous few hours right after release the price is being sent to the inner core of hell

i dont see any legit reason for that

do any of u have clue on what happened
Maybe it is because people can finally access their wallet, and sell bts.
In bts 1.0, it is so hard to access my bts. I have several months not touch my bts, not for i do not want, but i can not. The 1.0 client is so hard to work on my computor.

Good news is that the liquid increases. We will attract more larger fish to join.
After these people sell, we will find how much indeed bts is.

Utility should be the priority , that can create network effect thus increasing the price. Once people notice the speed BitShares protocol presents it will make the price skyrocket . There should be a simple user interface specificaly designed for   the general public  . Many people will want to enjoy the speed without dealing with the complexity. Everything is going pretty well if you ask me ..
yes, everything is very good except the smart asset, we shouldn't spent too much at smart asset now, we can delay this when BTS return to 0.05USD
if we have support some business, the liquildty will be larger, and this lead to a tight peg.
All this have connection.
I agree that support business is the key to start.

yes, I agree.  Is there one problem, that can be solved by our solution now? This is a direction we should explore.
