General Discussion / BOSEG - DRAFT
« on: January 05, 2016, 10:57:19 pm »
Around Christmas I had an idea.
I found out that there are a lot of Online Stock Exchange games around the world.
You register an free account, got a lot of virtual play money to buy stocks.
When you think you are ready for the real world they guide you the real exchange service.

I think this would be a real cool way on how to attract new users to BitShares.
But since the DEX is not ready for Stock and I actually don`t know much about programming at all I think before I erase that idea out of mind and my computer... I post here my very rough idea/concept about BOSEG.

Feel free to ignore or adapt or use this concept for your own purpose.

BitShares Online Stock Exchange the Game - BOSEG

Mission Statement
Offer a free blockchain based stock market game.
Full BitShares experience for free.
Great Community with real trading experience.

Side Effects
Low entry barrier to real BitAsset trading
Referrals
Publicity

Game Rules
Each round lasts for X months.
P2P Transfers are disabled
Each player gets 100.000 BOSEGs (equivalent to $100.000)
All BOSEGxxx Assets will be redeemed at the end of each round. (is this possible?)
- Each player has to accept rules

Asset Rules
Ingame currency: BOSEG
Asset Prefix: BOSEG (e.g. BOSEGOIL)
Selling BOSEG Assets is forbidden (disqualified)
Asset Price is based on a single public source. (E.g. Bloomberg.com, yahoo finance, google etc.)

Game Masters
Manual interaction
Automatically
- set Sell Orders based on real price
- cancel open orders a couple of times per day and open new ones if offset is greater x

Cost
500.000 BTS for 100 Stock BOSEG Assets

Mechanism
Asset handling
- Get real $USD stock prices for certain BitAssets into a csv file
- Create/Cancel Market Orders based on the real price

I have to be able to set all needed parameters through a config file.
For example

#Assets.cfg
[BOSEGALLIANZ]
VALUEUSD=Stockprices.csv#DE0008404005
TYPE=ISIN (or SYMBOL oder WKN)

[BOSEGSTXS]
VALUEUSD=Stockprices.csv#A1J09L
TYPE=WKN

General Discussion / Let`s kickstart the Stock derivatives Market
« on: January 03, 2016, 03:05:29 pm »
What is needed to bring Stock derivatives online?
If I understand it correct the Committee could bring in a lot of MPAs that reflect the price of real Stocks, ETFs etc?
What is holding us back in creating those assets?

I would love to diversify my portfolio by mixing it with many more kinds of investments.
We could be the first Exchange to trade really anything.

This would bring us a lot of attention and thus more users and liquidity.
We should bring ever week a couple of new assets.
every week in the news
growing a bit every week

Thoughts?

Technical Support / UIA restrictions
« on: December 30, 2015, 01:34:49 am »
I have created a UIA and enabled all available restrictions in the GUI.
I can confirm that transfers are now only possible between issuer and holder but not between holders.
However holders can bypass my restrictions by trading the UIA on the DEX.
How can I restrict Market activity for my UIA between holders too?

Technical Support / how to keep my accounts clean?
« on: December 27, 2015, 07:04:54 pm »
I just received some tiny amounts of openbtc via sharebits and some other assets I cannot transfer or burn because the required fees are higher than the assets are worth.

  • how to keep my accounts clean from spam assets?
  • how to find out who sent me those spam assets via sharebits?
  • how to burn for free? Can we have Burn button (recycle bin)?
  • how to enable a whitelist for assets/senders that my accounts are allowed to receive?

What are the plans for PlasmaOS?
Will it be some kind of a atomic cross-chain protocol?
Is it going to be a upgrade for GrapheneOS or a new product independent from Graphene and BitShares?

Stakeholder Proposals / Delegates community poll
« on: April 07, 2015, 10:16:06 pm »
Good vs Bad Delegates community polls

I have asked myself: how to create a community driven Delegates slate?
And I came to the conclusion that we could utilize a permanent poll for good and bad Delegates.
This way every investor, member and slate maintainer can use the community poll results for their own decisions.
Let me know what you think about this.

For now you can vote once a week!
Each voter can add one custom delegate and if you want more delegates to be added feel free to send me an pm.

If you like you can integrate this polls into your own websites.
