Why do I read "BLOCKCHAIN IS OUT OF SYNC, PLEASE WAIT UNTIL IT'S SYNCHRONIZED..    Head block #624035" (number is counting up) here?

https://bitshares.openledger.info

Is something wrong?

I'll make a download able bundle containing the web wallet if you wish .. it really only contains a few js files html and css .. super slick ..

That would be nice to "standard users" like me ;-)

Someone please put a warning message box in front of the official online wallet, saying clearly that online wallets are inherently less safe than local wallets (i.e., running a local client on our own machine as basis for the wallet gui).
That is not totally true .. the webwallet runs you keys locally .. its not like blockchain.info
to be super secure you compile the web wallet on you own and run it locally .. it would still be a web wallet but very secure

Most users will be unable to distinguish between blockchain.info and local webwallet.
For them it is just a browser thingy.

"Web wallet" is used for both local application AND remote service.
You need to make sure exactly how it works in order to state that it is "safe".

A little (one time) warning/info message wouldn't hurt anyone. Users should made aware that "online banking" is not without risk. Surely, the Monero dudes (also being focused on security) would appreciate this move, too.

I haven't checked the online wallet in detail, but is there a two-factor authentication available, or multisig, or so? (Ok, maybe a stupid question because the answer is out there and obvious, and I simply have not seen it yet.) Thx :)

Guys, the last blog entry on BTS2.0, bitshares.org/blog, reads half cooked and appears unfinished. Could someone please add to it and explain things more broad and clear? Right now only insiders may understand the topics and issues, etc, discussed. The announcement should be crystal clear and professional, not some irc like summary. Thx

Isn't this exactly what Monero is trying to do: become invisible if needed. They have (or work on) I2P, etc... technology. I'm not an expert here, just reading the web.

Can I transfer one BitShares account from me to another person?

While China is tanking......

...final quote: "I think the partnership between bigger companies and startups can work really well because we can complement each other."

I believe this is really good news for BitShares.

Don't forget, several people "continuously" have to sell BTS to fund daily living, etc.

This is the future of finance: virtualization of securities, etc (direct marketing of every! financial product directly b2c). That is our turn, now!

I have three questions:

How does MKR guarantee the peg? (The Maker white paper is not that helpful here.)

What are the differences (other than being based on another blockchain) between BitUSD and eDollar?

On first glance, this (honoring the BitShares community; good thing generally) looks like a simple marketing gag. Is it one?

I really appreciate the explanations. I now have a better understanding of Bitshares.

BitShares is centralized way from Dan and Stan to steal money.

P.S. I'am not a troll. That is exactly my experience.

Can you explain?

No, he can't. At least he is not corroborating his arguments with facts or evidence; also see his posts in the other threads.

Haha, guys, this is really kindergarden. BitShares is an emerging (decentralised) market with flaws, fires, problems everywhere, etc. If you can do it better, do it yourself and fork it :-) Competition is always useful and highly appreciated! BM and CNX are players/developers like you (should be). If you speculate on something brand-new, don't blame the others. Get active and contribute :-) Spread the word, help beta testing, fork everything if you like to, and design markets and tools for real people.
