Is this version 0.2.0? its late, but if I remember correctly I was having a problem and had to search the forum for a fix, and found this http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=370.0 I could not figure out how to update wallet, but I guess when the block chain forks you need to get the latest version of the client.

I was unable to send 0.5 PTS without a fee anyway, so I guess I have no need to change mine, couple days ago

the default fees in the wallet is 0;
