I think this is an interesting concept for developing nations.  It can probably be applied here too.  I think Keepod uses Google's OS, but you can do the same and carry around Linux in your pockets.    The trend of separating hardware and software OS on a USB could be a trend.

Yeah it seems the same principle of Chromebooks only now you can do it on every computer.

Just brainstorming a few things in case BitShares ever chooses to go with the lowest fees in the world to stay competitive and so everyone can trade easily, even though I dont see this happening in <20 years

Cellphones seem more accessible since you still need a pc for this, though you can just use one that was thrown to the garbage as long as it works. @merivercap this seems to go along with payment services, since you're into that...

If we actually go through this route... It would be nice to see some partnerships with cellphone providers or projects of this type.

People could just get a pc and set shop somewhere they had internet. Then allow for people to use it as a bank for those who don't have it. Many mini banks could start to sprout on those areas. More flexible, competitive and well... portable. This, assuming only some would have access on certain communities. When I talk banks it can be anything else you want I guess.

Thought it would be nice to share.
