Re: cudaPTSwin - Beeeeer - Fastest optimized PTS GPU miner for windows 64 bit
« Reply #38 on: January 26, 2014, 12:02:42 pm »
I just got into this mining thing so I'm a bit of a newbie. I did edit the "edit_me.bat" and tried to execute the "cudaPTSwin.exe" but that just closed in 0.5 sec only showing me instructions. So i executed "edit_me.bat" and now it seems to be working fine. It finds collisions and submits shares. Is this good? I seem to get around 1625 c/m on my Nvidia 780GTX. How fast does 1625 c/m get me 1PTS? How do I calculate the coins from c/m value?
Any help appreciated!

Yes, how much GB version you need? :-)
Tesla K20c has 5GB RAM. It could be interesting to test 2GB and 4GB version of the miner if possible.

I don't know if after some point you get diminishing returns in regards to memory capacity.

Any update on low memory video cards (768mb, GTX 460)? I'm really looking forward to using your miner!

Yes almost done will need tester.

Tested 0.4-experimental on:
Win7 x64, Xeon E5-2620 + Tesla K20c, avx mode
Result:
~1100c/s

I notice that only about 1GB of GPU RAM is used as reported by nvsmi tool. Any chance for a super-high memory version?  8)

for example now i'm mining with 1200 coll per minute, so how many PTS a day i can get approximately?
sorry for noob question. Thank you all so much!!!

<gpu's-to-use> How to use multi GPUs (2, 3, 4)? tks

If you got 1 GPU use, use: 0
If you got 2 GPU's use, use: 1
If you got 3 GPU's use, use: 2

Hope it helps, If you have any further questions, please let me know. Don't forget to post your stats. :)

Cheers!

tks for your guide... I've tested but not success. I run 2 GTX 670 and use 1, but it just run 1 GPU. So I have to run 2 scripts, one use 0 and one use 1... It run 2 gpus well. So you can help again, tks so much

My stats: xeon W3530 - avx - one GTX 670 (Kepler, 2GB): 880-900 c/m used cudaPTSwin-0.4

880-900 c/m is the speed of 1 single GTX 670? If you open up 2 windows you get 2 x 900 c/m correct?

[I think my last post was unnecessary, and I've deleted it.]

I apologize, crz, for putting you on the defensive. It looks like I probably was greatly mistaken, too.

Please edit our unhappy exchanges out of your posts (and/or delete the posts), and I'll do the same (and also delete this post itself, after a while).

Removed thanks.

Re: CPM with cudaPTSwin
« Reply #28 on: January 17, 2014, 12:16:10 pm »
Hello,

nice work:)

The miner work excellent.

Beside this, I have 2 questions regarding the CPM.

My machine:

Processor: AMD FX8350
RAM: 16 GB
Graphics: 2* GTX 650

1. Question:
I reach a CPM rate of 300 to 350.
Compared with your benchmark, this seems to be not so much.

2. Question:
I called the miner with:
cudaPTSwin.exe "adr" 1-
The "1" means, both GTX 650 should work.

In the response of the program, every found collision is generated bei GPU "0".

<<[WORKER] collision found: 17070511 <-> 59251628 #162 @ 1389956781 by 0
<<[WORKER] collision found: 59251628 <-> 17070511 #162 @ 1389956781 by 0
<<[WORKER] collision found: 15759157 <-> 64019081 #164 @ 1389956781 by 0

The second GPU seems to be ununsed.

Is this correct?
Or where can I see, how much GPUs are working?

Or, when both GPUs are working, a CPM of 300-350 seems to be really slow.

Thanks for your help.

Sincerly yours,

Hurlie

Hi Hurly, can you start up 2 cudaptswin.exe?
One gpu with: 0
And the other gpu with: 1

And report the CPM.

I don't have multi nvidia card rig (only multi ati rig ;)), will setup test machine with 3 nvidia cards.

Cheers!

Update on dropbox (all versions) - Removed windows 32 bit compatibility because all user use 64 bit.

@thesuperconductor My computer has 8gb and my video card has 768mb. How much memory is needed?

If you get a malloc error, make sure you have more than 800 MB of free video memory. Ill hook up my dusty GTX 460 and test it, ill try to make some adjustments for low-memory GFX cards but it will decrease in performance.

@crz Any update on incorporating low memory (768mb) cards? It won't be a decrease in performance for me, as I'm currently getting 0 cpm! Thanks!

Yes working on it!
Don't listen to that man, we want a Linux port!! ;D

*chants "Linux port! Linux port!*
