We've held off on launching on BitShares due to the crazy prices of launching a UIA and lifetime memberships.

Hope this gets done - quickly.

New proposal https://cryptofresh.com/p/1.10.7264

Fixed the Annual member fee part, but kept the lowered vesting balance creation fee unchanged in comparison to the previous proposal.

Still not using a dedicated field for collateral bidding (to revive smart coins after a black swan event), so the fee will be same to short position updating.

@pc the reason behind the change is to keep the fee in a "small" range in terms of fiat, which was discussed in 2016 (didn't get time to find the post, sorry)

I approve of this message!

TBH, if it is enacted then I will probably build my project on Bitshares. I have been waiting and hoping for a fee adjustment.

I have been rooting for you guys, but I remain blockchain-neutral and have not decided on which one to build the project on top of.

Since you have a nice DEX and GUI with easily signed memos, I had hoped that would be Bitshares, but it is hard to justify the expensive UIA costs at this time when there are other much cheaper options (as cheap as $10...).

This is speculation, but I think that we are in the midst of a huge crypto bull market... I wouldn't expect all crypto prices, including BTS to come down for a while.

You should also know that, if committee members are all supporting the first proposal in original post, the fee would be reduced in 3 hours. Nothing useful is "fixed" in the second proposal, yet we will have to wait for 4 more days.

A 5 days delay just for an annual fee which have absolutely zero blockchain use? Or are there more reasons to delay that far?

I could see zero difference besides the time, which I think is unreasonable. Or there must be some more reasons?

@abit

The annual membership has long been disabled and enforced by witnesses which you should also know technically.

Also, the reasoning we are asking is about why there is a second proposal.

Thanks @all. Can someone post a short overview about the differences and the reasoning behind them?

Roughly 2% missing, looking good.

@zhaomu please advise them to open a discussion here, so everyone has a chance to give input

witness.still voted again for this committee proposal because he wants to reduce the transaction fee immediately and ASAP. But, it seems that others have concerns about the adjustment of specific parameters. He hoped that we can strengthen consultations and reach a consensus ASAP

there was a concern that create vesting would take too much space for its low price. I asked alfredo, he thinks create vesting takes much less than an account and account creation is 10x cheaper

also, annual membership is still disabled, no matter the price.
