thanks for your updates. my big concern for the global marketing board proposal is how to make sure this one will be delivered based on the performance of previous "marketing" proposal. The problems and challenge that we're gonna face will be much harder than the previous one. The question we should ask is how to find and make sure those marketing volunteer will have interests to deliver those goals even we have budget. More marketing specialist, less committee or other bts team members.

Apologies for not getting back to you ... Essentially, the board are not __meant__ to be the marketing specialists. They are meant to be the BitShares specialists that can tell the marketing specialists answers to all their questions.

btw, if you open this topic in the Chinese thread and look for more comments, you should have responsibility to answer the questions in Chinese. lots of chinese members can't read english proposal or comments. Thanks for inviting me to contribute more about marketing thought in the future.

Agreed. It was a bit discouraging that I answered you in english, and you asked the same question in Chinese without mentioning anything I clarified in the answers.

we can encourage each region (asia, us, euro, africa, south american etc) to proposal their own marketing plan. It's hard to balance different region's interest and thoughts, then relocate marketing resource. Each region should build their own bitshares marketing proposal and team, which aims to build local ecosystem and BD potential partners every year. Decentralized 2020 might be included into Euro Bitshares annual marketing plan; also the 3rd Global Graphene Blockchain Developer Conference 2020 could be included into Chinese Bitshares marketing plan. Let the voters to decide which region/area should support or not, much or less. One general proposal can't reach and match all marketing goals and needs from different area, since each area has their own "history" and need.

btw, if you open this topic in the Chinese thread and look for more comments, you should have responsibility to answer the questions in Chinese. lots of chinese members can't read english proposal or comments. Thanks for inviting me to contribute more about marketing thought in the future. I am currently based in nyc/beijing and already met lots of bitshares friends in the China and US this year. Hopefully, you do not judge me by the thoughts "where you came from suddenly".  :)

What's wrong with you? I do respect the replies and comments, but i don't like the way you judge the new people. If i do not care about the bitshares development, i do not need to spend time to check the status of previous proposal. i am not sure how many voters know the performance and updates after they voted. Your biased words and thoughts already pushed lots of Chinese voters to choose to join cn-vote. so sad for decentralized governance.  LOL....

I believe "Global Marketing Board" as term should be replaced with "Global Management Board".

Global Management Board will submit workers for (Infrastructure, marketing etc...) that would be specific and in details when it comes to for example "Annual Marketing Plan" which will have a marketing plan and it's down budget.

"Global Management Board" budget must be segregated from "Annual Marketing Plan" budget.

"Global Management Board" must be OpEx.
"Annual Marketing Plan" must be CapEx and budget should consider the BTS value.

As for the budget, BTS holders have full control how much they want to create. Otherwise the ideas align.

Please move your envisioned management board advances to a new thread if you want to pursue it, I would consider this here as part of it for marketing focus.

Agree that we should keep departments separate, since some of the holders can't even follow reality on very simple individual ones.

Don't know where you came from suddenly, but certainly you haven't been much around 2017 and 2018. Coming to piss your opinion in 2019, without catching up on previous 2 is very unethical and unprofessional - to me seems like a pure fud. Now, some facts:

1) BitShares as brand, blockchain and technology offer didnt had any consistency in Branding since inception. For instance, bitshares.org website solely had more makeovers than Madonna, each time focusing on different keywords, shilling offers and doing it in very amateurish way. Clearing it up from over 30k+ unwanted backlinks + very bad/wrong seo done on it now takes more time than would new brand need - drastically.

2) BitShares in 2017 was given to anyone to hype it as its own, hence there was no management in marketing. Various socials (some with very wrong publications), handles, promotions has been done - where some were very illegal and bad for the sake of BitShares. Not a single BTS core token holder, from this bunch that cn-vote's action bring now, did A SINGLE ACTION towards prevention of such things. Unfortunately i know people who were doing it for free (saving BitShares), for many days, nights and hours while holders were sleeping tight and gambling with margins. It ended as permanent bad online trace to BitShares - again thanks to not having marketing management.

3) January 2019 was the first marketing worker as first public idea to run one. It was not a promise, but a budget worker (seems that you can't even understand what means budget), with giving anyone from Community opportunity to chase stated goals/points - it was never a promise that BBF will do.

4) From 3) above, Gokhshtein was delivered, promoted and re-promoted through even news.bitshares.org. Article on publications done with marketing can be found here (part of collaboration and supporting marketing efforts from bitshares.org worker.

5) From both 3) and 4) above, as you can see those payouts were worth of what they were claimed for, and loss of activity on that worker is mostly due to lack of interest from the Community and Holders itself, also another proof no people from these unvoted workers were "sucking" and "dumping" and "stealing" BTS from the blockchain but respectfully managed it to not be spent unless real efforts are done on it.

6) New marketing worker is purely focusing THAT SAME CONTENT/EFFORTS are being PRESENTED/DONE in the same manner across all continents, and in all languages. We need to grow in corporate sense, and i don't see DELL having different offers and different descriptions between USA and Asia, but satisfying both markets in exact same way, just different language.


Now, i do apologize for that "pissing" part above, but i can't find another word that describes the best - how little research or actual reading and thinking you have done, before you came with hot-barrel questions shooting and shouting around without any fact to be claimed.

I do hope this sincere message of mine can wake you up to realize mistake you've made, forgive me for my harsh words and carry on with better prospects for BitShares - aren't we all in here for those at the end of the day ?

my apologies for not giving more detailed updates here in the forum on the preceding marketing worker. We gave you comments to them in https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=27747.msg335192#msg335192.

Concerning this new worker proposal there is one comment / question fitting:
If you are the manager of any marketing or pr team, please tell me the truth whether this "marketing" achievement is good or not. Thanks.

Looking from the outside, I agree the marketing achievement of the previous worker seems insufficient (addressed in the post mentioned in the beginning of this text). I never claimed to be a marketing expert, I wrote the previous worker simply because no one else was doing any kind of advancement in the marketing front and I saw the need. I did several attempts to invite others to join the previous marketing worker, but there was either no interest, or lack of BitShares knowledge to conduct the task at hand. The intent of the previous marketing worker was also inclusive, inviting the community for collaboration. The new one takes it even a step further: We introduce a globally distributed marketing board as the decision makers and increase the budget, which now also allows to invite professional marketing companies for collaboration.

In that sense, the new worker is exactly addressing your concern. Expand and enhance the marketing team and put the budget at the complete mercy of the voters. It is not the intention that the marketing boards are exclusively the ones to execute marketing efforts.

To elaborate more on that, the intention is to provide a frame that will allow other marketing & PR experts (which are likely not so familiar or interested in the governance and politics necessary for a worker proposal) to have an easier way to get funding for their ideas, while the board can serve as the go to point of contact to address all questions and needs of said expert. After all, marketing experts are normally no experts on the topic / product that they are marketing, but they need to be able to ask the right questions and get spot-on answers.

This was also in reference to the previous marketing worker, but concerns more this one. I am no marketing expert myself, but I believe I know where to go and what to ask to be able to write acceptable guidelines for it. Please note that this worker proposal is a draft and I am now publicly asking for feedback to refine the text.

P.S. I saw that you were involved with, or at least reposted the interview that was conducted with Ryan. If so, and you have background in that area that we are not aware of, are you interested in contributing to marketing efforts?

Let me help you to read their bill/invoices carefully first. We had paid "3 Video Clips & Gokhshtein" for 59.22243k CNY. Have you heard any info about those videos or gokhshtein in our channels or social accounts? how about other goals from proposal? So that's call "We aim to change that by doing baby steps and are asking for funding to conduct interviews, craft articles and increase the general visibility and awareness of the BitShares Blockchain by fixing misinformation and deadlinks in common crypto-overview websites and centralized exchanges. (quote from proposal)", right? The proposal duration between 2019/02/01 - 2019/06/30 (4 months + 1 month buffer). anyone check the performance or follow up this fund use?

If they do not have time/ability to delivery their "marketing" words on time, then find someone do it, please. DO NO WASTE ANY marketing fund again! The greatest talkers are always least doers. How can community trust those people/entities will delivery this proposal this time?

On the one side, lots of marketing purpose proposals (decentralized 2019, steemfest, even english-chinese translation jobs) do not have enough fund to continue, on the other side, some proposals (for example this proposal Marketing: Interviews, articles and visibility proposal) didn't delivery goals and had been approved by 20000 usd??! so funny!
