Good to go. I updated to the latest version of the wallet and everything fell right into place.

you go to "transfer" select your unregistered account as source (menu above) copy the balance (minus 0.5 BTSX for the fee)
type in the 'registered account' (be sure to select the right one)
and click "send"

Done

Okay, I didn't know that you weren't supposed to have a period in your account name. I did that, and can't register. I created another account but it has a zero balance. How do I transfer my BTSX balance to my new account that is able to be registered?

dots "." are intend to work with subaccounts .. much like sub domains .. to use
foo.bar you need to own bar ...

makes structuring of multiple accounts MUCH easier!

Anyway: welcome on board!

The username had a '.' in it.  I didn't realize that was a problem.  Thanks!

you are using the GUI or the command line ... in the command line it seems you want to pay from an account that is unknown to your wallet ... or you try to create a username with a "." in it ..

is this a v4.5 bug or am I just doing something wrong? I had no issues  previously registering an account on a separate machine  using the 3.x  wallet.

the error  message is :  RPC Server error:  In method  "wallet_account_register": unknown account  (20006)
