I did it..

After an hour of the guessing game, I figured it out and got the ID back.

Thank you all especially testz for guiding me.

I'm glad you sorted it out! I bet you were panicking!

I was just reading down the thread (it's a bit old now, I know) with suspense. I love a happy ending when it comes to true stories!

I was going to suggest using SpinRite to fix your hard drive. I've heard a few success stories form Steve Gibson's podcast...

Have I lost my Founders ID if I've tried the brainkey and it doesn't work?  Incase I've forgotten it?  I really don't think I have but still?

Thing happened, you should play with Keyhotee until you will see the repute points in your profile.
You should recall FirstName, MiddleName, LastName and brain key, all fields case sensitive.

When you get repute points, let's us know, I will guide you how to import Keyhotee into BitSharesX.

PS: Do you update Keyhotee key at April? https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1433.435
If no, anyway you will not be able to use your Keyhotee ID.
PS2: You can try to get your name back in BitShares DNS https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=6675.0

Hi testz,

When I delete appdata profile and try again to recover, what should I see and where in keyhotee?  Would I have to try and add my identity each time?

Yes, each time delete your profile from appdata and try again.
Each time after you enter First Name, ... and creates profile, do Identity->New identity, enter Keyhotee ID (case sensitive), enter Founder Code (PTS address to which your send founder funds, you should have this address in the wallet from which you send funds or in the e-mail which you get from Stan) when you enter Founder Code the interface freeze and Keyhotee will contact server to verify your ID, when under Founder Code you get label "Registered with X points" you done! If you see "Invalid ID/FounderKey Pair" - try again  :(

you still have access to the keyhotee profile IN KEYHOTEE?

the most recent version allows to export the private key that you can then simply put into "wallet_import_private_key" in bitsharesX

Make sure you have the capitalization the same as you originally did in your Keyhotee name, along with all the other brainwallet fields.  Do you know how old the Keyhotee version you generated it on before was?

If it's in the BTSX Genesis block, you can also use the BTSX wallet to regenerate it from the console:
     wallet_import_keyhotee <firstname> <middlename> <lastname> <brainkey> <keyhoteeid>

Hope this helps...

Hi guys.

My hard drive  crashed and I’m trying to recover my founders keyhotee ID with my brain key and no success :(

I've downloaded the latest keyhotee app.  Re-setup my profile and brainkey and trying to retake my name but when using the Founder ID (donation address), its claims to be invalid.

What do I do now?  How do I recover my founders ID?  What am I doing wrong?

I hope someone guide me.

Thank you.
