General Discussion / Re: A Case for Adam B Levine

One of the things that first attracted me to this project was how Dan responded with level headed reason to the multitude of flames, criticisms, and out right character attacks when first announcing PTS on the Bitcointalk forum.  How a community responds to its detractors speaks to the character and tenor of that community.  In my opinion, of course.

General Discussion / A Case for Adam B Levine

I believe Adam is playing an important role.  While some may take offense to his style he is asking the questions and implying (intentionally or not) characteristics and intend that others who are new or skeptical to I3 and the Bitshares project may also have.  Rather than letting them fester he puts them out there for the community to address.

What Adam is thinking is very likely not unique but he puts it out there and gives the community a chance to respond in its own backyard. We can't say that for a lot of the detractors, skeptics, and opponents of Bitshares (not implying that Adam is one, but we all know they're out there).

This trip we secured solid marketing partnerships.  I wouldn't expect anything visible for a few months.

These guys have proven track records and will get us where we need to go.

Brian's talent is finding the best and I am very impressed with the work these guys have done.

It's great seeing the pictures of you guys in action.  I'm very excited to see where this is all going, and where it'll be in three to five years and beyond.

So I really really really am not trying to be a dick here, I want to understand what Brian actually does because I don't see it and Director of Marketing seems like it should have obvious, public results.   Where are they?

Understood, it's easy to come off that way in text when there's no inflection. Based on what I've read in posts from Stan and Dan about their St. Martin's trip is that a primary focus is on developing a marketing blitz.  That makes sense given the venue - a person who basically made their fortune marketing the unremarkable.  Not saying this project is unremarkable but if you want good marketing advice find the guy that's selling snow machines to the Inuit :) .

Like you, I'm just another schlub following along.  Hopefully we'll get a good report upon their return and begin to see, and feel, the fruits of the blitz plan.

:( No one have resolution?

Your best option would be to brute force the password starting with guesses of what you think it might be to cut down on the number of possibilities.  Unfortunately you're looking at the business end of blockchain security :(.

Google around, there are some forums/posts about services and techniques to recover passwords if you know most of the passphrase.  If you don't know any of it then you're pretty much out of luck.

Indeed.  Buying large amounts of something people are selling in small amounts takes time or you end up way over paying  :-[ .

I'm not too worried about that wiki.  People will see it for what it is: A bunch of keyboard warriors having a flame war, and move on to more informative pages.

@Riverhead: your signature states "nntp service" .. should be "ntp service" ... nntp is the traditional newgroups network service .. just a FYI

Good catch.  I meant nptd but must not have had enough coffee.   :)

any good news?

Some.  Stan and Dan are down in St. Martins meeting with some folks that should get things moving.  There's mention of it in a couple of threads if you search either of their post histories.  Pretty exciting.

Wow!
On Bter BTSX volume is approaching NXT volume (68BTC vs 78BTC).  However BTSX is rising and NXT is falling.
