LBank already list BTS no? seems like a good choice to take the next step
This proposal aims for exchanges listing bitCNY/bitUSD as base currency like BTC or USDT.

I know. I was just commenting that it was a good choice  to target them since they ALREADY list BTS.

Another update:

We have been listed/mentioned under the sponsor section on decentralized.com.

Currently finalizing the agenda with them.
They cancelled the relevant panel we had planned so I convinced them to upgrade the spokesperson's participation from panelist to speaker.

So now we get TWO speaker slots.

Spokesperson will have a talk in the "Blockchain and Financial Services" session.
Ryan will have a talk under one of the "Blockchain Technology Advances" sessions.

Getting them the necessary information to finalize the proper listings & bios asap.

230
fwiw, I'm willing to spend necessary time reviewing submissions as needed too

A quick update and important notification.

Spokesperson has confirmed her attendance to me. I expect a public announcement soon as well.

The spokesperson will take part in a panel discussion (most likely the "Blockchain Policy" panel)

Ryan R. Fox has also confirmed and will be tackling the speaker slot (Topic: TBA)

The important notification is that the 16000 euro price (15k sponsorship + 1k brochure ad) is EXCLUDING Cyprus VAT.

This means that the final amount paid to the organizers is 16k euro +19% VAT bringing the worker's total estimated budget up to 28500 USD.

I will do my best to keep rest of the costs as low as possible (I believe travel expenses will end up being lower after all as we can get good accommodation deals) so that we end up lower than that.

The worker was already over-estimated so there is no need to change anything  but I'm letting the community know for transparency's sake.

Also, it is quite likely that some of those exchanges will require some kind of legal opinion letter or technical description/report of bitAssets.

Will the BBF who I believe has been working on those documents via legal/compliance workers be able to provide potential lobbyists with the appropriate documentation?

Or at least provide a contact point lobbyists can defer to if/when talks with exchanges reach that point?

@xeroc, could you pass along the questions above to the BBF?

233
Support!!!! But what if lobbyist said the exchange need 10Million BTS to open smartcoin market?

For 10m BTS i'll start a new exchange personally :D

234
I like the idea.

I believe the worker should include bitEUR as well. (yes it's very small now but I believe has great potential)

235
Worker is now active everyone!

Thanks for your support! I will be updating here as things move along.

General Discussion / Re: New mechanism to handle bad debt (black swan)
« on: October 17, 2018, 08:05:58 am »
I like it too.

Of course specifics would have to be thought out very carefully but eliminating that mechanism which I think we all agree is very very flawed is a huge incentive to do this right.

On a side-note, can we call the account: collection-agency :D :D :D ?

Finally got the time to give my $0.02 on this.

Although I was the one that kind of opened the discussion on this again with my issue on Github, I share many of the same concerns as xeroc.

Faulty/buggy smart-contracts can cause a lot of trouble in the community and open up a lot of FUD attacks against BitShares. What's more, BitShares is not "big" enough to be able to fight such FUD if (when) it occurs. Let alone that fighting it is a marketing/PR thing which we are notoriously terrible at.

When I originally posted that issue, what I had in mind was a much less powerful contract system, more of a glorified, trustless if-this-then-that (IFTTT) scripting environment.

The problem with that is that it requires a completely custom setup as I have been unable to find an existing VM/Scripting system with that kind of simplicity/limited capabilities.

Unbeknownst to me at the time, you guys (OL) were working on the EVM port. I think it's a great achievement and I love the fact that we have it available as it is a HUGE statement of the versatility/strength of the BitShares platform as well as the quality of its developers.

Still, I'm very torn on whether this should be added to core or not for reasons above.

One solution (I believe NEO made that choice) was to make creating smart contracts VERY expensive in terms of creation fees, thus ensuring that a) we don't end up with a bunch of silly useless smart contracts that can drag down performance and b) there will be a better chance that some kind of decent quality control/code review is performed on them prior to creation simply by virtue that there is a bigger monetary risk to the creator if they're not careful.

Not sure whether that would be enough though. I want to be convinced as I would love this to be available and work well but I'm very worried  about the effects if it doesn't.

I have already paid for my registration. Can I get a partial refund? And some travel expenses?

Not sure if their offer for 20% off the current discount price (which is 40% off and I assume you paid) or 20% off the main price which they will revert to at some point.

In any case, assuming the worker is approved I will ask the organizers to see whether it's possible. They've been very accommodating so far.

As far as travel expenses are concerned for gas and tolls from Loutraki, I'll pay them out of my own pocket if it's an issue :)

TOTAL:Up to $28,500 (Estimated Budget. See full proposal) (Up from 25k. Now includes VAT . See comment below)
DURATION:2018/10/18 - 2018/10/27 (9 days)

WORKER ID:1.14.127

This year’s “Decentralized” conference will be held at my hometown of Athens, Greece between the 14th and 16th of November. I was planning to go as a simple attendee but after conversations with other community members and considering the need for as much exposure for BitShares as possible at such events, I decided to create this worker.

The purpose of this worker is to cover the cost of a Sponsorship Package for BitShares and associated expenses.

I have already negotiated a special deal on a sponsorship package with the organizers which includes:

•   Logo on website
•   Logo on conference materials (banners, videos, etc.)
•   Thank you during opening and closing
•   Free exhibition space
•   Special marker on booth
•   Free registrations: 4
•   20% off on additional passes
•   A speaker slot (business or technology track)
•   A panelist slot

The package costs 15,000€ (approx.. $17,400) and the associated expenses are:

•   Travel costs for another 3 BitShares “representatives” (TBD)
•   Design/Creation & printing costs of a BitShares “introductory” leaflet + Vinyl stickers to be handed out at the BitShares booth.
•   Full page ad on conference brochure

More information about Decentralized and the speakers/agenda this year can be found here: https://www.decentralized.com/

General Discussion / Re: Announcement on BSIP42 relevant actions
« on: October 09, 2018, 11:53:32 am »

* MSSR: at 100% if premium >=0%, else (100-premium*penalty)% if premium <0 (feedback) - this way, we cause margin calls to raise the price in case there is a discount - "penalty" would cause the margin call to pay a premium

(100-premium*penalty)% means < 100% MSSR if premium < 0? How's that possible

100 - (-1) = 100+1
