I think the BTSX selling is just a normal retracement of the rise we had from .084 to .125 CNY.

It looks like it might have bottomed at .105, which would be a 50% retracement, then we bounced.  I think we might be heading down to about .099 to .100 which would be the .618 retracement line.  (Or maybe we go up now because bitcoin has started rallying).

Show me one company that will grant you an equity package that becomes liquid over time, but is granted in entirety upfront without any regard for your performance or status as an employee.

The developers that Dan is granting the PTS shares to have all been working on bitshares for some time now, and clearly Dan likes their performance and wants to keep them on.

BTW what are the multiple projects sharedropping to AGS/PTS ?  The ones I can think about were planned before BTS.

Both alphaBit's proposed DPoS currency and this RnadPaulCoin thing.  (In addition to earlier planned htings like PLAY).

So BitShares killed PTS/AGS by removing official support.  This means all talk of toolkit is pretty much gone.

The new official suggestion is to sharedrop to BTS.

If this is the case then where are the BTS sharedrop projects?

I see multiple projects looking to sharedrop to PTS/AGS and none to BTS.

Looks to me that PTS/AGS have not been 'killed' and are alive and well.

Be careful what you wish for. This could happen due to massive printing of USD, and you could still be better off now than then :)

People have been saying that for years, and yet inflation has been low.   If it wasnt for the USD money printing we probably wouldve been in a deflationary depression this whole time.

I'm so tired of hearing the "<investment> will be worth tons of $$$, but that will just buy a loaf of bread" BS.  3% a year inflation in USD does not result in it costing hundreds of dollars to buy a loaf of bread in a decade.

Note: as soon as they reopen trading on PTS, there is a race to be the first to dump your shares into the idiots who left open buy orders on there.  Grats to whoever wins this race and gets free money.  And if any of you still have buy orders out there for PTS, remove them now!  (Unless they are super super low orders looking to take advantage of any future PTS based snapshots).
Are they "reopening" the market?

I dont know, but I would assume so.  It reopened a ocuple hours after previous snapshots.  (Of course, this might be different).

If it does reopen, whoever sells first can make hundreds of dollars because some idiots left buy orders in there.

* We are the only people on earth capable of delivering on BTS. If we left right now BTS would die, while we could make a viable competitor.

Strong words...

I believe them.

Or at least, if any other group tried to make BTS now, it would take them much, much longer to learn all the lessons and get to where we are now.  That time delay would make them uncompetitive.

Even with 54k worth of PTS + some BTSX + a paid delegate salary, our developers are taking less money now by working on bitshares than they would make working for an established company.  This is the risk of working for startups.

But when the price rises over the coming two years, you will be greatly rewarded, as it should be. :)

Half an hour until the snapshot occurs!

In bter we now have snapshot balances for our PTS.

Also to be clear, our salaries are all ending.

This is being replaced by paid delegates, and the distribution of remaining I3 funds?

You and other developers are critical to the future of bitshares and it is important that you guys dont run out of money and have to go back to working on other projects for a salary.  I for one greatly appreciate the risk you are currently taking, and I hope you will be massively rewarded for it in the future. :)

Has anyone out there played Herzog Zwei?  Its essentially the first RTS ever made(predates dune/duneII) and in my opinion is the greatest Genesis game ever made.  Yet sadly few people have ever heard of it.

Oh wow, this brings back memories! :)

Two good ideas for promoting Bitshares:

1) Sponsor a hearthstone tournament.  A bit of marketing funds could be used to this, to provide the prize support for the tournament.  Pay prizes in bitUSD.  Or even just normal USD.  Stream the tournament, get commentators etc like other hearthstone tournaments.

2) Enable betting on League of Legends and DOTA pro matches in bitUSD.  I have read about ideas to allow betting on pro matches with bitcoin and dogecoin in the past.  I don't know how close these are to being implemented, but we could do the same thing using bitUSD.

So is it cheaper to buy bitUSD on bter or btsx?

If you want to buy in a short timeframe, BTSX is better because of higher liquidity (tighter spreads). If you can afford to wait, Bter is better because of lower liquidity: since the spread is so wide and the markets are so thin on Bter, if you wait long enough you might get an opportunity to pay only 61 cents for a bitUSD, like the OP pointed out. :)

Indeed, the opportunity to buy 5 cents worth of bitUSD for only 3 cents, making a 2 cent profit.   Then you can go buy 1 BTSX with it.

Such liquidity, wow.

Just trade in the Bitsahres asset exchange.

If you want to hedge into USD on bter, the best way to do it is actually to buy Nubits.  (I am not recommending Nubits long term - only as a short term hedge with money on bter specifically, because Nubits market makers provide high liquidity there!)

Yeah probably because nearly nobody has any real USD on bter, it's quite difficult to deposit USD on bter.

The BTC/BitUSD trade pair is functioning much better.

Yes exactly.  The trade on bter (in all coins) is mostly BTC, with some CNY.

In bitshares, the true believers who understand the technology and its potential are the ones who get rewarded.

BitsharesX released in July, and got dumped through mid august by those who were not long term believers, and were tired of having their capital locked up in PTS/AGS.  Having shaken the weak hands, BTSX went up by 500%.

Then came paid delegates, and the creation of the new superDAC BTS.  Those who did not understand the changes were plagued by fear and uncertainty, and convinced to dump by unsavory community members.  Those who understood the change and believed in the technology held and bought more and now we shall reap the rewards a second time.

HODL your Bitshares now!

Many will be tempted to sell this small gain after a large decline, or to go into bitUSD after a small rise, but now is not the time for that.  Now is the time to hold as many bitshares as you possibly can.  Do not sell the 50% rise, sell the 500%+ rise that is coming!
